Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01869 | $0.01869 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00934 | $0.00934 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00374 | $0.00374 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00187 | $0.00187 |
Grade A, and why
opentelemetry-agent-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 85 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AGENTS.md
This file provides guidance to AI coding agents when working with code in this repository.
What this repository is
A catalog of Agent Skills (per the agentskills.io spec) for OpenTelemetry, published by OllyGarden. The skills are non-opinionated and vendor-neutral by design — there are many valid ways to use OpenTelemetry, so prescribing conventions is out of scope. They exist to give an agent token-efficient, agent-friendly retrieval: small fetch tables, lookup indexes, and scripts that point at upstream sources of truth instead of copying docs into context, so answers stay current as OpenTelemetry evolves.
Most changes are to Markdown and YAML files that AI agents consume. The exception is tools/otel-agent-tools/, a Go module that generates and validates some of the bundled reference data (see below). "Correctness" means a skill is well-scoped, accurate, points at the maintained source of truth, and is registered in all the right places.
Preferred workflow
For any change that adds, renames, moves, or removes a skill, or that alters what a skill triggers on or recommends, follow docs/preferred-workflow.md. Typo and prose fixes go straight to a PR — unless they touch SKILL.md frontmatter, since a description: edit changes when the skill activates.
Running the gates locally
The two skill gates are scripts in bin/. Both resolve the repository root themselves, so any path spelling works from any working directory — the ./ form below assumes you are at the root:
./bin/validate-skill.sh # spec conformance + house rules; a path checks one skill
./bin/check-skill-inventory.py # skills/, marketplace.json, and README in sync
CI enforces one further check that is not a bin/ script: the Link Check workflow. Reproduce it locally with the lychee command in docs/preferred-workflow.md.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
