infra-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

infra-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from open-infra-skills/infra-skills. It costs 382 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for maintaining and writing installable AI infrastructure skills. They define where skills go, how they are structured, and how to document them.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or updating skills, checking their structure, writing skill documentation, generating the catalogue, or reviewing portability, security, and reproducibility.
Why use it?
They reduce inconsistent project layouts and unclear skill behavior. They also keep technical claims evidence-based and make skills easier to move between organizations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00382 $0.00382
Opus 5 $0.00191 $0.00191
Sonnet 5 $0.00076 $0.00076
Haiku 4.5 $0.00038 $0.00038

Measured 11d ago against content hash 97bd07e95ef3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

infra-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Repository Instructions

Purpose

Maintain a portable, evidence-driven library of AI infrastructure agent skills. Favor workflows that generalize across organizations while preserving the technical details needed to reproduce a diagnosis or optimization.

Structure

  • Put installable skills at skills/<category>/<skill-name>/.
  • Keep exactly one category layer between skills/ and the skill directory for broad CLI compatibility.
  • Make the skill directory name match the frontmatter name.
  • Do not add README.md inside a skill directory.
  • Use references/, scripts/, and agents/ only when they materially improve the skill.
  • Treat catalog.json as generated output; update it with npm run catalog.

Skill Authoring

  • Keep SKILL.md focused, imperative, and under 500 lines.
  • Put trigger terms and task boundaries in the frontmatter description.
  • Use progressive disclosure instead of loading every detail in the main file.
  • Prefer primary documentation and measured evidence for hardware or software claims.
  • Mark examples as templates when paths, ports, versions, or device IDs must be adapted.
  • Make correctness and reproducibility checks explicit.
  • Record useful negative results when they prevent repeated work.

Portability And Security

  • Do not assume Windows, PowerShell, VS Code, SSH, a jump host, Slurm, Kubernetes, or any one cloud unless the skill is explicitly about that transport.
  • Keep credentials, tokens, private IP addresses, internal hostnames, proprietary paths, and private registry names out of committed files.
  • Never weaken TLS, host-key verification, authentication, or container isolation as a convenience shortcut.
  • Avoid destructive commands. Give stop conditions before high-impact profiling or distributed experiments.

Validation

Run before committing:

npm test

Also execute representative paths for any changed helper scripts. Do not hand-edit generated catalog entries.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
