Repository instructions for developing termcp, including security rules, issue-tracking practices, labels, and links to technical documentation. They also explain how to call termcp's MCP tools efficiently.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working on termcp, triaging GitHub Issues, applying project labels, reading its API documentation, or driving its MCP tools.
Why use it?
They reduce the risk of exposing secrets or personal data and give contributors a consistent way to handle issues and tool calls.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01025 $0.01025
Opus 5.5 $0.00410 $0.00410
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00205 $0.00205
Haiku 4.5 $0.00103 $0.00103

Security

Grade A, and why

Termcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent skills

Issue tracker

Issues are tracked in GitHub Issues via gh CLI. See docs/agents/issue-tracker.md.

Triage labels

Default vocabulary: needs-triage, needs-info, ready-for-agent, ready-for-human, wontfix. See docs/agents/triage-labels.md.

Domain docs

Project docs live under docs/ (docs/api.md, docs/architecture.md, docs/design/).

Releases

dev is the rebased development line; main only receives release PRs. Use the process in docs/releasing.md before tagging. Write the ## Unreleased notes before cutting the release — one short paragraph per user-visible change since the last release, not a design note; make prepare-release only moves them. Give the PR a release/vX.Y.Z head branch or release: vX.Y.Z title, run make prepare-release RELEASE_VERSION=vX.Y.Z, and review the generated changelog and server.json changes. CI checks both files before merge.

A vX.Y.Z-rc.N tag is an internal test build: it adds a dated changelog section, leaves server.json alone (no registry entry, no :latest move) and is marked as a GitHub pre-release. Its branch and PR name the rc itself (release/v0.2.8-rc.1), because CI requires the release signal to match the files exactly — the final release is its own PR (release/v0.2.8). docs/releasing.md has the details.

Tests run in CI on three OSes

Whenever you write or modify a test, remember it must pass in .github/workflows/test.yml — ubuntu, macos and windows, via go test ./... -count=1 -shuffle=on -race (make test locally, with a tighter -timeout: CI widens it because a shared runner is several times slower, and a run killed by -timeout names no failing test). For races the detector cannot see — filesystem and lifecycle races — run make test-stress locally before pushing. Assume concurrency, a fresh runner, and dirty state from other tests or processes. Never hardcode a shared absolute path; t.TempDir() is the default. See docs/agents/testing.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
