ocm-components: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

ocm-components CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from opendefensecloud/ocm-components. It costs 1,859 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository instruction file for opendefensecloud/ocm-components, a codebase of reusable interface components.

In plain words
What is it for?
Getting oriented in the ocm-components repository and following its rules when developing or reviewing components.
Why use it?
It explains the project's structure, component architecture, and development environment so agents can make changes consistently.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01859 $0.01859
Opus 5.5 $0.00744 $0.00744
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00372 $0.00372
Haiku 4.5 $0.00186 $0.00186

Measured 2mo ago against content hash 07fd93ea5e11, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ocm-components CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Overview

This is a monorepo for packaging cloud-native applications as OCM (Open Component Model) components. Each folder in the repository represents a single cloud-native application packaged with:

  • The operator (if available)
  • Corresponding Helm charts
  • All required container images
  • Extensive configuration options for controlling operator behavior

Component Architecture

Components can reference each other to fulfill dependencies rather than duplicating resources. For example:

  • The Keycloak component references the CloudNativePG component for database requirements
  • This enables composable, reusable infrastructure definitions

Repository Structure

The monorepo follows a flat structure where each top-level directory represents a separate cloud-native application/component. Component layouts are not yet uniform — two patterns currently coexist:

  • Raw-manifest layout (keycloak/): component-constructor.yaml, operator/ (CRDs + operator manifests), configs/{minimal,production}/, docs/. No RGD/bootstrap yet.
  • RGD layout (cloudnative-pg/, artifact-conduit/): component-constructor.yaml, rgd-template.yaml, bootstrap.yaml, and flat values/cluster files at the component root (e.g. minimal-values.yaml, cluster-production.yaml). No configs/ or tests/ subdirectory.

When reading or creating files, do not assume one canonical structure — check the component directory first.

All components use the OCM name prefix opendefense.cloud/<component> (see existing component-constructor.yaml files). New components should follow the same prefix.

Development Environment

This repo uses devenv (entered automatically via direnv / .envrc). The shell provides: ocm, kubectl, helm, kind, jq, yq-go, gnumake. There is no top-level Makefile — components are built individually with the ocm CLI.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
