ai-agent-memory end-session.instructions.md

ai-agent-memory end-session.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from ozgurkarahan/ai-agent-memory. It costs 376 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A wrap-up procedure for ending a work session in a project knowledge wiki. It reviews project notes, records important lessons and decisions, and checks whether Git has uncommitted changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after a work session when you say “end session,” “wrap up,” or “done for today.” It proposes wiki updates, adds relevant lessons or glossary terms, records the session, and reports Git status.
Why use it?
It prevents useful decisions and lessons from being left only in temporary notes or forgotten. It also makes unfinished changes and knowledge gaps visible before stopping.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00376 $0.00376
Opus 5 $0.00188 $0.00188
Sonnet 5 $0.00075 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00038 $0.00038

Measured 4d ago against content hash cf7210a46ade, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-agent-memory end-session.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

End Session

When the user says "end session", "wrap up", or "done for today":

Resolve the memory root

  1. If memory/schema.md exists in the current workspace, use memory/.
  2. Else if schema.md exists, use the current directory.
  3. Else follow the memory-wiki path declared in the current project's AGENT.md.
  4. If no folder containing both schema.md and index.md resolves, report that the wiki update is blocked; still perform the Git check.

All wiki paths below are relative to that memory root.

  1. Project wiki page — Check if wiki/projects/{project}.md needs updates from today's work (lessons, decisions, technical details, status). Propose changes. (Note: legacy .ai/lessons-learned.md / .ai/project-reference.md were retired — project knowledge lives directly on the wiki page.)
  2. Wiki compounding — If significant lessons or patterns were discovered:
    • Update relevant domain pages under wiki/domains/
    • Add new glossary terms to glossary.md
    • Create or update pattern/lesson pages if applicable
    • Append to log.md
  3. Git check — Run git status and warn about uncommitted changes.
  4. Summary — Present a table:
Area Status Action
Project docs Up to date / Updated ...
Wiki (project page) Up to date / Updated ...
Wiki (domains/patterns) Up to date / Graduated ...
Glossary Up to date / Updated ...
Git Clean / Has changes ...

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
