.github/copilot-instructions.md

pbnz-skills copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot from PBNZ/pbnz-skills. It costs 950 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for PBNZ's skills marketplace, which distributes Claude Code plugins and standard agent skills. They describe the repository layout, documentation files, validation scripts and safety checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or reviewing plugins and skills, editing marketplace metadata, updating documentation, or running the Python validation and safety checks.
Why use it?
They show where configuration, skill instructions and validation logic belong in a repository made mostly of prose and metadata. This helps reviewers focus on the files that affect marketplace behavior and safety.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00950 $0.00950
Opus 5 $0.00475 $0.00475
Sonnet 5 $0.00190 $0.00190
Haiku 4.5 $0.00095 $0.00095

Measured 8d ago against content hash 6ceba890dd6f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

pbnz-skills copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

About this repository

This is a Claude Code plugin marketplace that also distributes Agent Skills under the open agentskills.io standard. The repository is primarily configuration and prose — it is not application code. There is no build step and no runtime beyond the Python validation scripts under scripts/.

What's in the tree

  • .claude-plugin/marketplace.json — marketplace manifest.
  • plugins/<plugin>/.claude-plugin/plugin.json — plugin manifest.
  • plugins/<plugin>/skills/<skill>/SKILL.md — skill definition. The YAML frontmatter is metadata for skill matching; the Markdown body is natural-language prompt content consumed directly by the model.
  • plugins/<plugin>/README.md — human-facing plugin documentation.
  • .github/workflows/validate.yml, .github/workflows/release.yml — CI.
  • scripts/*.py — Python 3.12 validation scripts used by validate.yml. Dependencies: pyyaml, jsonschema. check_skill_safety.py scans every SKILL.md body for invisible/bidi Unicode, imperative prompt-injection phrases, and URLs outside .github/skill-url-allowlist.txt.
  • .github/skill-url-allowlist.txt — versioned allowlist of hostnames permitted in SKILL.md bodies. One host per line; # comments supported; subdomain matches are implicit.
  • Top-level: README.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md, SECURITY.md, CHANGELOG.md, LICENSE (Apache-2.0).

Where review effort adds value

Focus comments on:

  • JSON manifests — required fields, SemVer-shaped version values, plugin source paths that do not exist on disk, duplicate plugin names, stale references.
  • GitHub Actions workflows — security concerns (unsafe interpolations, overly broad permissions, untrusted action versions), correctness, and avoidable failure modes. permissions: contents: write on release.yml is intentional and required — do not flag it.
  • Python scripts — bugs, edge cases, unsafe file handling. PEP 8 is expected. Python 3.12 is the target.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
