android-agent-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

android-agent-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from piyushverma0/android-agent-skills. It costs 596 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a collection of Android development skills for AI coding agents. Each skill is a Markdown file covering an Android topic such as Kotlin, Compose UI, or dependency injection.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding or editing skills in the android-agent-skills repository, especially skills for Android architecture and libraries.
Why use it?
Agents can produce inconsistent Android code without the repository's required file format, structure, and writing rules. These instructions define how skills must be created and maintained.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is piyushverma0/android-agent-skills's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on android-agent-skills itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00596 $0.00596
Opus 5 $0.00298 $0.00298
Sonnet 5 $0.00119 $0.00119
Haiku 4.5 $0.00060 $0.00060

Security

Grade A, and why

android-agent-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What This Repo Is

Open-source Android development skills for AI coding agents. Each skill is a SKILL.md file — plain Markdown, no build step. Install command: npx skills add piyushverma0/android-agent-skills

Repo Structure

SKILL.md Format — Never Deviate

Every SKILL.md MUST start with exactly:

name: kebab-case-name description: | What this skill covers AND specific trigger keywords. Include exact terms: @HiltViewModel, StateFlow, UnauthorizedRestException. Under 60 words. This is the only thing the agent reads to decide to load the skill.

Writing Rules

  1. Every code example must compile — no pseudocode in critical paths
  2. Show ❌ wrong way then ✅ correct way for common mistakes
  3. Every skill needs a "Common Mistakes" section
  4. Kotlin style: val over var, trailing lambdas, named args for 3+ params, no !! operator
  5. SKILL.md under 500 lines — overflow goes in references/ subfolder
  6. Reference files must be linked from SKILL.md with guidance on when to read them

Android Standards This Repo Follows

  • Min SDK: API 24 (Android 7.0) unless stated otherwise
  • Architecture: MVVM + Unidirectional Data Flow
  • DI: Hilt only (not Koin, not bare Dagger)
  • Async: Coroutines + Flow (not RxJava, not LiveData)
  • Images: Coil
  • NEVER suggest: deprecated APIs, AsyncTask, Java-style Android, LiveData

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
