Purpose
TypeScript MCP control-plane client for Nexus. Humans and GitHub-hosted
coding agents authenticate with GitHub SSO / OIDC only. Never introduce
static NEXUS_ACCESS_TOKEN support.
MCP protocol
- Target MCP 2026-07-28 (modern/stateless wire era) via
@modelcontextprotocol/serverv2. - Keep
supportedProtocolVersionsincluding2026-07-28first (src/mcp-protocol.ts). Do not downgrade to@modelcontextprotocol/sdkv1.
Auth rules
- Prefer Actions OIDC when
ACTIONS_ID_TOKEN_REQUEST_*is present. - Else GitHub user SSO: device flow,
gh auth token, or host-injectedNEXUS_MCP_GITHUB_USER_TOKEN(GitHub OAuth token only). - Cache Nexus JWTs in memory; refresh before expiry.
- Tenant comes from the exchange/memberships, not from trusting caller input
alone (optional preferred
TENANT_ID).
