mcp CLAUDE.md

mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from post-crawl/mcp. It costs 1,259 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction document for developing a PostCrawl MCP server. PostCrawl provides search and content extraction from Reddit and TikTok, while MCP connects those tools to AI assistants.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building or maintaining the server, including its Cloudflare Workers and Hono setup, bearer-token authentication, and tool parameter validation.
Why use it?
It gives developers the server’s architecture, authentication process, and input rules in one place.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.01259 $0.01259
Opus 5 $0.00629 $0.00629
Sonnet 5 $0.00252 $0.00252
Haiku 4.5 $0.00126 $0.00126

Measured 3d ago against content hash 2eab284b7801, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

PostCrawl MCP Server Development Guide

Overview

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation for PostCrawl, providing AI assistants with tools to search and extract content from social media platforms (Reddit and TikTok). Built on Cloudflare Workers with Hono framework.

Architecture

  • Hono: Web framework for routing and middleware
  • MCP SDK: Protocol implementation for AI tool integration
  • Zod: Runtime validation for tool parameters
  • PostCrawl Client: Internal API client for PostCrawl services

Key Technologies

  • Cloudflare Workers: Serverless execution environment
  • TypeScript: Full type safety with strict mode
  • @post-crawl/extraction-schemas: Shared types for extraction and search operations

Authentication Flow

  1. MCP client sends Bearer token in Authorization header
  2. Token is extracted and validated in request handlers
  3. Token is passed to PostCrawl API for authentication
  4. Errors return appropriate JSON-RPC error responses

Tool Schemas

All tools use Zod schemas for parameter validation:

  • socialPlatformSchema: Enum of supported platforms (reddit, tiktok)
  • responseModeSchema: Enum of response formats (raw, markdown)
  • Parameters are validated before API calls
  • Important: Tool parameters use snake_case (e.g., social_platforms, include_comments, response_mode) to match API expectations

Available Tools

search

Search across social media platforms.

  • Input: query, page, results, social_platforms[]
  • Output: Array of search results with title, url, snippet, date (formatted string), imageUrl
  • Note: Dates are returned as formatted strings (e.g., "Dec 28, 2024")

search_and_extract

Combined search and content extraction.

  • Input: Same as search + response_mode, include_comments
  • Output: Array of extracted posts

extract

Extract content from specific URLs.

  • Input: urls[], response_mode, include_comments
  • Output: Array of posts with content

check_health

Health check for PostCrawl API.

  • No parameters required
  • Returns API status

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
