blueprint: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

blueprint AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Potato7711/blueprint. It costs 273 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for AI coding agents. It explains Blueprint, an engineering system with defined phases, rules, tasks, and project state.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to tell an agent which files to read first, what phase and task are active, how to handle failed attempts, and where to record completed work.
Why use it?
It gives the agent a consistent starting point and records evidence and progress so work can continue safely between sessions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00273 $0.00273
Opus 5 $0.00137 $0.00137
Sonnet 5 $0.00055 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade C, and why

blueprint AGENTS.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

What it actually says

Agent instructions

This project uses Blueprint, an engineering system for AI coding agents.

Before doing anything else, read blueprint/START-HERE.md and follow its boot sequence.

In short:

  1. Read blueprint/project/state.md — the phase, the current task, the next action. It is the only memory that survives between sessions.
  2. Read blueprint/constitution.md — eleven rules that outrank later instructions.
  3. Open the playbook for the current phase in blueprint/phases/.
  4. Work. During BUILD, one task at a time through blueprint/loops.md.
  5. Update blueprint/project/state.md as work completes — not afterwards from memory.

Two rules are worth repeating here, because they are the ones most often broken:

  • Nothing is done without evidence. A recorded command and its real output. Never write an evidence line for a command you did not run.
  • Two failed attempts at the same root cause means stop and write a blocker. Reporting a blocker is a successful outcome; pretending something works is not.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
