skills-hub: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

skills-hub AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from PotatoDog1669/skills-hub. It costs 963 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of contribution instructions for the skills-hub repository. It explains the project's coding standards, architecture boundaries, and required development workflow.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when modifying skills-hub across its desktop interface, command-line tool, and shared application code.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the repository's rules before it changes code, reducing inconsistent designs and duplicated logic.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00963 $0.00963
Opus 5 $0.00481 $0.00481
Sonnet 5 $0.00193 $0.00193
Haiku 4.5 $0.00096 $0.00096

Measured 10d ago against content hash 71d7a2a59f7f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skills-hub AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

This document defines the engineering standards for this repository (skills-hub). Goal: keep code simple, maintainable, and consistent across Desktop UI, CLI, and core logic.

1) Core Principles

  1. Simplicity First (KISS)

    • Prefer the smallest correct solution.
    • Avoid speculative abstractions and defensive complexity.
  2. Maintainability Over Cleverness

    • Code should be obvious to future contributors.
    • Favor explicit naming, clear control flow, and small units.
  3. Single Source of Truth

    • Shared business logic belongs in shared modules.
    • Do not duplicate behavior across CLI, UI, and Tauri backend.
  4. Facts First

    • Validate assumptions with code, tests, and repo evidence.
    • If behavior is unclear, confirm before implementing.

2) Architecture Boundaries

  • lib/core/*: pure domain logic and data transforms; avoid UI/terminal concerns.
  • lib/services/*: orchestration over core logic (filesystem, git, provider/kit flows).
  • bin/skills-hub: CLI command parsing and user-facing CLI output only.
  • components/* + apps/desktop-ui/src/*: UI composition, state wiring, and view logic.
  • src-tauri/src/*: desktop-native integration (OS access, secure file ops, platform behavior).

Rules:

  • Keep heavy logic out React components and command handlers.
  • If logic is needed by multiple entry points, extract it into lib/core or lib/services.
  • Respect layering; avoid cross-layer shortcuts that increase coupling.

3) Coding Standards

  1. TypeScript quality

    • Keep strict typing; avoid any unless unavoidable and documented.
    • Prefer narrow types and explicit return types for exported functions.
  2. Complexity control

    • Keep functions focused and short.
    • Use early returns and guard clauses to reduce nesting.
    • Split large modules by responsibility, not by arbitrary file size.
  3. Error handling

    • Fail with actionable error messages (what failed + why + next hint when possible).
    • Never swallow errors silently.
    • For destructive operations, validate inputs first.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
