Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00557 | $0.00557 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00279 | $0.00279 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00111 | $0.00111 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00056 | $0.00056 |
Grade A, and why
claude-aws-cost-saver AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 69 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AWS Cost Saver for Codex
Purpose
This repository ships plugin manifests for both Claude Code
(.claude-plugin/) and Codex (.codex-plugin/, .agents/plugins/).
If your Codex version supports plugin marketplaces, install the plugin directly:
codex plugin marketplace add prajapatimehul/claude-aws-cost-saver
Then run /plugins inside Codex to install aws-cost-saver.
Otherwise, use the MCP-only setup below: the runtime entrypoint is the AWS MCP
server plus these repository instructions, not /aws-cost-saver:scan.
Codex Setup (MCP only)
Run these commands from the repository root:
# Register the AWS API MCP server used by this project
codex mcp add awslabs-aws-api --env FASTMCP_LOG_LEVEL=ERROR -- ./plugins/aws-cost-saver/scripts/start-mcp.sh
# Verify it is available
codex mcp list
Requirements:
- AWS credentials already configured (
aws configureoraws sso login) uvinstalled
Codex Operating Rules
- Use
plugins/aws-cost-saver/checks/all_checks.yamlas the baseline catalog of checks. - Always query AWS Cost Explorer first for actual spend before estimating savings.
- Treat Cost Optimization Hub and Compute Optimizer as optional accelerators, not prerequisites.
- Do not fail the scan if optional recommendation sources are disabled or empty.
- Output Markdown only.
- Save merged scan output to
findings.jsonwhen asked to produce reportable results.
Mandatory Pricing Rules
- Never guess
monthly_savings. - Pricing resolution order:
- AWS Pricing API
- Exact verified table entry
monthly_savings = 0withpricing_unknown = true
- Savings must not exceed actual service spend from Cost Explorer.
Suggested Codex Prompt
Scan my AWS account for cost savings using AWS MCP.
Use plugins/aws-cost-saver/checks/all_checks.yaml as the baseline.
Get actual monthly spend from Cost Explorer first.
Treat Cost Optimization Hub and Compute Optimizer as optional.
Return Markdown only and save merged findings to findings.json.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
