production-master-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

production-master-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from ProductionMasterAI/production-master-mcp. It costs 1,680 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for production-master-mcp, a server that connects coding tools to a hosted incident-investigation service. MCP is a standard way for AI clients to call external tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building, checking, or changing this MCP server, including its HTTP and command-line communication paths.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents one shared set of project rules and explains that investigation logic stays in the hosted service rather than being copied into this repository.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

This is ProductionMasterAI/production-master-mcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on production-master-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything production-master-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01680 $0.01680
Opus 5 $0.00840 $0.00840
Sonnet 5 $0.00336 $0.00336
Haiku 4.5 $0.00168 $0.00168

Security

Grade A, and why

production-master-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md — production-master-mcp

Read this first. This is the single canonical agent policy for this repo, for all AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex, …). CLAUDE.md starts with @AGENTS.md; .cursor/rules/000-project.mdc is a thin pointer back here. Edit the policy here — never fork it into the adapters.

What this repo is

production-master-mcp is the standalone MCP server for the Production Master hosted incident-investigation service. It implements the standard Model Context Protocol — Streamable HTTP (POST /mcp) and stdio transports — and exposes the Production Master tool set to any MCP-capable client. It is a protocol boundary and nothing more.

  • All investigation logic lives on the hosted service. The pipeline, agent reasoning, prompts, retrieval, scoring, and evaluation data live behind the service's API. This repo never contains any of it and never reimplements it locally.
  • The server terminates MCP, validates tool calls against the shared contract, and forwards them to the hosted service over its public API. Authentication is opaque pass-through: the caller's Authorization: Bearer <token> is forwarded upstream and the server stores no credentials of its own.
  • Being public, this repo must stay free of anything proprietary to the service. If you find yourself needing service internals to do a task here, the task is on the wrong side of the boundary — stop and flag it.

Layout

Path Role
packages/mcp-server The one published package, @production-master/mcp: transport (HTTP + stdio), auth pass-through, and the src/tool-router/ relay module
docs/ User-facing docs only (install/operate) plus CONTRIBUTING/CHANGELOG — this repo is PUBLIC
.github/ CI workflows, issue/PR templates, Dependabot config

TypeScript, npm workspaces (packages/*) — currently one workspace, and the repo publishes exactly one package. The relay is an internal module directory rather than a second package: keep its boundary intact (single entry point, no reaching past tool-router/index.ts) so extracting it later stays cheap. Tool input/output schemas are consumed from the shared npm package @production-master/mcp-tool-contract (published on npm), never redefined here.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
