Why use it?
They document the repository’s conventions, responsibilities, and rules so work follows the project’s expected process.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is ProjectOpenSea/opensea-skill's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on opensea-skill itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything opensea-skill configures →

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is ../../scripts/check-skill-sync.sh.

Reuse

Borrowing it

Nothing to install: this file belongs to ProjectOpenSea/opensea-skill. Take a copy, put it at the same path in your own repository, and replace the rules that are about this project with yours.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00524 $0.00524
Opus 5.5 $0.00210 $0.00210
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00105 $0.00105
Haiku 4.5 $0.00052 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

opensea-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

skill — Agent Conventions

Modular AI agent skills for interacting with OpenSea. Shell scripts, reference docs, and SKILL.md files for LLM consumption.

Quick commands

There is no build or test step. Validate shell scripts and docs manually.

# Syntax-check scripts (they live in per-domain subdirectories)
find . -name '*.sh' -exec bash -n {} +
# What CI runs: shellcheck, plus every opensea-*/scripts/*.sh must be executable
shellcheck $(find . -name '*.sh')
find . -name '*.sh' ! -perm -u+x
# Run the skill sync check
../../scripts/check-skill-sync.sh

Responsibilities

  • SKILL.md router and five sub-skills: opensea-api, opensea-marketplace, opensea-swaps, opensea-wallet, opensea-tool-sdk.
  • Reference docs and standalone curl/jq scripts per sub-skill.
  • Mirror opensea-tool-sdk/ to packages/tool-sdk/skill/.

Rules

  1. SKILL.md files are the source of truth for agents. Keep CLI commands, API endpoints, and shell script examples current.
  2. No duplication across sub-skills. Put wallet-provider tables in opensea-wallet/ and shared scripts in opensea-api/scripts/; link elsewhere.
  3. Shell scripts are self-contained. Each script should work with OPENSEA_API_KEY and curl + jq only.
  4. Security. This package mirrors to a public repo; never include API keys, internal URLs, or private infra.
  5. Skill sync. packages/tool-sdk/skill/ and packages/skill/opensea-tool-sdk/ must remain identical. Run scripts/check-skill-sync.sh locally.
  6. Releases. /release skill is the full flow: bump package.json by hand, prepend CHANGELOG.md, tag skill-vX.Y.Z, and let the GitHub/ClawHub chain publish. Do not run pnpm changeset for skill — it is excluded from the pnpm workspace.

Conventions

  • Shell scripts use #!/usr/bin/env bash and read OPENSEA_API_KEY.
  • Scripts output JSON by default (pipe through jq when available).
  • SKILL.md frontmatter declares env vars and dependencies.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
