AGENTS.md

factory-factory AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from purplefish-ai/factory-factory. It costs 1,899 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for Factory Factory, a TypeScript application that runs many coding-agent sessions in separate Git worktrees. They describe required tools, common commands, project checks, and architecture rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, testing, type-checking, formatting, running Storybook, editing the database schema, or reviewing Factory Factory changes.
Why use it?
They help agents use the correct package manager and commands while respecting the project's automated checks and code-ownership boundaries.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions subagents; mentions Claude Code.

This is purplefish-ai/factory-factory's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on factory-factory itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything factory-factory configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01899 $0.01899
Opus 5 $0.00949 $0.00949
Sonnet 5 $0.00380 $0.00380
Haiku 4.5 $0.00190 $0.00190

Security

Grade A, and why

factory-factory AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Factory Factory — Agent Guide

Workspace-based environment for running many Claude Code and Codex sessions in parallel, each in its own git worktree. TypeScript end to end: Express + tRPC backend, React + Vite client, Prisma/SQLite, Electron wrapper, ff CLI.

Requires Node ^22.22 || >=24 and pnpm (see packageManager in package.json). Never use npm or yarn here.

Everyday commands

Task Command
Dev server (backend + client) pnpm dev
Electron dev pnpm dev:electron
Full test suite pnpm test
One test file pnpm test path/to/file.test.ts
One test by name pnpm test -t "partial name"
Types only pnpm typecheck
Lint + format, writing fixes pnpm check:fix
File length check pnpm check:file-length
All guardrails pnpm check
Prisma after schema edits pnpm check:prisma-schema
Storybook pnpm storybook

pnpm check runs Biome, then check:file-length, check:env, check:ownership (accessor boundaries + single-writer + service registry), check:fk-indexes, deps:check (dependency-cruiser), and check:codex-schema. The Codex schema check is skipped locally unless the pinned Codex CLI is installed; force it with CODEX_SCHEMA_CHECK=strict pnpm check:codex-schema.

Oversized legacy files have exact ceilings. After intentional reductions, run pnpm check:file-length:update to lower the baseline; the update command never blesses growth.

Before you hand work back

Run these and fix what they report. Do not report a change as done on a green typecheck alone.

  1. pnpm check:fix — Biome writes formatting and safe fixes
  2. pnpm typecheck
  3. pnpm test (or the affected files while iterating)
  4. pnpm check
  5. pnpm check:prisma-schema — only when prisma/schema.prisma changed

The husky pre-commit hook independently runs lint-staged, pnpm typecheck, a Prisma migration-drift check, pnpm deps:check, and pnpm knip. A commit that skips the list above usually fails there instead.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
