qauth AGENTS.md

Repository instructions for qauth, a JavaScript and TypeScript workspace managed with Nx. Nx is a tool for organizing multiple related projects and running their builds, tests, and other tasks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when exploring projects and dependencies, running checks, creating applications or libraries, or configuring Nx plugins.
Why use it?
They prevent agents from using the wrong commands, guessing options, or skipping the workspace's required generation and documentation procedures.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.01618 $0.01618
Opus 5 $0.00809 $0.00809
Sonnet 5 $0.00324 $0.00324
Haiku 4.5 $0.00162 $0.00162

Security

Grade A, and why

qauth AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

General Guidelines for working with Nx

  • For navigating/exploring the workspace, invoke the nx-workspace skill first - it has patterns for querying projects, targets, and dependencies
  • When running tasks (for example build, lint, test, e2e, etc.), always prefer running the task through nx (i.e. nx run, nx run-many, nx affected) instead of using the underlying tooling directly
  • Prefix nx commands with the workspace's package manager (e.g., pnpm nx build, npm exec nx test) - avoids using globally installed CLI
  • You have access to the Nx MCP server and its tools, use them to help the user
  • For Nx plugin best practices, check node_modules/@nx/<plugin>/PLUGIN.md. Not all plugins have this file - proceed without it if unavailable.
  • NEVER guess CLI flags - always check nx_docs or --help first when unsure

Scaffolding & Generators

  • For scaffolding tasks (creating apps, libs, project structure, setup), ALWAYS invoke the nx-generate skill FIRST before exploring or calling MCP tools

When to use nx_docs

  • USE for: advanced config options, unfamiliar flags, migration guides, plugin configuration, edge cases
  • DON'T USE for: basic generator syntax (nx g @nx/react:app), standard commands, things you already know
  • The nx-generate skill handles generator discovery internally - don't call nx_docs just to look up generator syntax

QAuth Project Guide

QAuth is an open-source OAuth 2.1 / OIDC identity server (TypeScript/Fastify). Its near-term identity is an authorization server for MCP servers and AI agents (see ADR-007) — the MCP/agent-native authorization layer (agent client type, RFC 8693 on-behalf-of delegation, scope modes, step-up), the T3 production-hardening bundle, and the T5 environment-aware posture (ADR-008) all ship today. By design it is also a federation hub: upstream identity sources (email/password and — behind a default-off flag — Verifiable Credential wallets; external OIDC providers still to come) plug in through the CredentialProvider interface, and downstream apps receive standard OAuth 2.1 access tokens and OIDC ID tokens.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
