agent-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

agent-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from quatico-solutions/agent-skills. It costs 922 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository guidance file for coding agents working in the agent-skills project. It points agents to the main CLAUDE.md rules and highlights important requirements such as changeset-based versioning.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide agents when editing the repository, deciding where to find authoritative instructions, and completing changes that affect skills.
Why use it?
It prevents agents from following missing or outdated project rules, especially around version changes and required release steps.

Instructions file for Claude CodeCodexOpenCode

Written for Claude Code and Codex and OpenCode: Claude Code plugin machinery, but also the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is quatico-solutions/agent-skills's own configuration. It tells Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on agent-skills itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything agent-skills configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00922 $0.00922
Opus 5 $0.00461 $0.00461
Sonnet 5 $0.00184 $0.00184
Haiku 4.5 $0.00092 $0.00092

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

Instructions for coding agents working in the agent-skills repository.

CLAUDE.md is the source of truth. This file exists so agents that look for AGENTS.md by convention (Codex, Cursor, and others) find the repository's rules instead of nothing. It restates the rules that are easy to violate without noticing; everything else — repository structure, the full versioning flow, Plot configuration — lives in CLAUDE.md and is not duplicated here.

A previous copy of this file was produced by a blind ClaudeCodex find-and-replace, which invented a .Codex-plugin/ directory and a Codex-opus-5 model family, and dropped the bash 3.2 rule entirely. If you are tempted to regenerate this file mechanically: don't. Where the two files disagree, CLAUDE.md wins.

Rules that bite

1. Never edit version numbers by hand. Versioning is changeset-driven. Do not touch metadata.version in any SKILL.md, version in .claude-plugin/plugin.json or .cursor-plugin/plugin.json, the marketplace.json files, or package.json. The release pipeline owns all of them.

2. Every change touching a skill needs a changeset. pnpm changeset, then edit the created file: a one-line summary, a root-package bump, and a bumps: block listing each changed skill. Record tuned-against: claude-opus-5 (the model family, never a dated snapshot) when a change is model-specific. CI only warns when a changeset is missing — it will not catch this for you.

3. Shell scripts must stay bash 3.2-compatible. macOS ships bash 3.2 and always will (bash 4 went GPLv3): no declare -A, no ${var^^}/${var,,}, no mapfile. Under set -u, expand possibly-empty arrays as ${arr[@]+"${arr[@]}"}. Gated for bin/bb by the bb-tests-macos CI job, which pins /bin/bash; every other script relies on this rule alone.

4. Never use YAML block scalars in SKILL.md frontmatter. No >-, >, |-, | — Cursor does not parse them. description is a single-line quoted string; metadata.version is 3-part semver.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
