si-coder-agent: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

si-coder-agent AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from rahmanef63/si-coder-agent. It costs 1,194 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for working on SI-Coder, a command-line tool and service for managing credentials, connections, deployments, and coding-agent skills. They define which files to read, how the product is divided, and rules such as never exposing secrets.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing SI-Coder to understand its architecture, documentation requirements, credential handling, and worktree and coding policies.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project's required workflow and safety constraints before they edit the repository.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01194 $0.01194
Opus 5.5 $0.00478 $0.00478
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00239 $0.00239
Haiku 4.5 $0.00119 $0.00119

Security

Grade A, and why

si-coder-agent AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

Coding contract for agents working on this repository (not for end-user skill hosts — that is SKILL.md).

What this product is

SI-Coder (sc CLI, repo rahmanef63/si-coder-agent, v0.9.8) is a secret-safe credential control plane plus:

  • provider CLI: setup → connect → publish → verify
  • skill catalog (skills/, SKILL.md umbrella)
  • MCP server: scripts/sc-mcp.js with registry machine/functions.json
This product is This product is not
Credential / connection SSOT for SC users (human or project name) A host-ops shell → that is MSO
Provider deploy recipes + skill catalog An external connector / SaaS proxy → that is connectors-gateway

Role split detail: docs/THREE-WAY-COMPARISON.md.

Read first

  1. README.md, SECURITY.md, SKILL.md (umbrella skill routing for hosts)
  2. docs/CREDENTIAL-SETUP.md, docs/cli.md, docs/tool-calling.md
  3. Post-hardening: docs/THREE-WAY-COMPARISON.md, docs/DECISIONS-local.md

Do not duplicate the whole skill routing table here — link to SKILL.md.

Non-negotiable invariants

  1. Never print, log, commit, or return plaintext credentials / tokens / PATs in chat, tool output, git, or docs. Use env injection (sc run) and redaction.
  2. MCP / machine tools refuse plaintext credential arguments. Store connections under ~/.config/si-coder/connections/<user>/<provider>/ with 0600 / 0700.
  3. An SC user may be a human or a project name — always scope providers and connections by that SC user.
  4. Prefer ~/.local/bin/sc (this package). /usr/bin/sc is a different binary that can shadow PATH.
  5. Output redaction lives in lib/redact-env.js: secret-named env values and shapes (Bearer/Basic, ghp_ / github_pat_ / sk- / xox* / JWT / PEM). AUTH matches only as a name segment (?:^|_)O?AUTH(?:_|$) — do not break AUTHOR / GIT_AUTHOR_NAME.
  6. MCP contract: lib/mcp-contract.js — tool hints, validate args against schema before spawn (-32602 on bad input), scrub / cap errors. Do not weaken validate-before-execute.
  7. Role split: SC owns credentials; MSO owns host ops; gateway owns public MCP / OAuth edge. MSO and gateway get secrets only via sc run env injection — they must not keep their own copy of SC provider secrets.
  8. Do not invent a second secret store, a second MCP registry, or duplicate long recipes that belong in the connectors cookbook.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
