SIPp MCP Server Project

Project Overview

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for SIPp, providing tools to interact with SIPp for SIP protocol testing.

Current Status

• Create copilot-instructions.md in .github
• Scaffold MCP server project structure
• Customize with SIPp-specific tools
• Install dependencies and compile
• Test the MCP server
• Update documentation

Available Tools

1. run_sipp_scenario

Execute SIPp scenarios for SIP protocol testing

• Supports UAC (client) and UAS (server) modes
• Configurable call rates, counts, and timeouts
• Supports UDP, TCP, and TLS transports
• Can use built-in or custom XML scenarios

2. create_sipp_scenario

Create custom SIPp XML scenario files

• Built-in templates: basic_call, register
• Supports custom XML scenarios
• Generates properly formatted SIPp XML

3. get_sipp_statistics

Parse and display SIPp test statistics from CSV files

4. check_sipp_version

Verify SIPp installation and display version information

Development Guidelines

• Use TypeScript for type safety
• Follow MCP server SDK patterns
• Include proper error handling for SIPp interactions
• Document all tools and their parameters

Usage

Testing with MCP Inspector
