Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |

Grade A, and why
Scout CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 97 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Rules that span both subtrees
.claude-plugin/marketplace.jsonlives at the REPO ROOT, not inplugin/.claude plugin marketplace addreads it from there.plugin.json— the canonical version — lives atplugin/.claude-plugin/plugin.json. Its scout entry pins agit-subdirsource to thestablebranch (#362), so installs get the latest release, nevermain's tip. Onlyrelease.sh finalizemovesstable. Never point the entry back at"./plugin", and never pushstableby hand except to run the recovery commandfinalizeprints.plugin/.claude-plugin/marketplace.jsonmakesplugin/its own marketplace root: the root manifest with only the scout entry, sourced"./". Hosts that serve a checkout and can't followgit-subdir(Agnes) read it from avX.Y.Ztag, nevermain(seeplugin/README.md), and Scout.app's engine bundle ships it (bundle-engine.shfails if it differs from what it would generate). Its version is a release version file like the others; when the root entry changes, change this one to match, keeping"./".- Everything the plugin needs at runtime must stay under
plugin/.CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOTresolves to the materializedplugin/subtree only; a plugin file that reaches outside it is broken for every installed user, and nothing in this repo will tell you. - One version, one tag, one release. Scout's app and plugin share one version
X.Y.Z. It lives inplugin/.claude-plugin/plugin.json, the rootmarketplace.json,plugin/.claude-plugin/marketplace.json,plugin/engine/pyproject.toml,plugin/engine/scout/__init__.py, and everyMARKETING_VERSIONinapps/macos/Scout.xcodeproj;versioning check(CI:contract) fails on drift. From v0.16.0 every release is ONE tagvX.Y.Z, cut withscripts/release.sh preparethenfinalize; release candidates arevX.Y.Z-rc.N, cut withrcfromrelease/vX.Y.Z. Never createapp/v*orplugin/v*tags (sole exception before v0.16.0: an urgentplugin/v0.15.xpatch viaplugin/scripts/release-plugin.sh); the existing ones (app/v0.1.0–app/v0.14.0,plugin/v0.14.0,plugin/v0.15.0) are history. The app was never released as 0.15.0. Barev0.4.0–v0.13.0are the plugin's pre-monorepo releases. Agents never runfinalize/rcfor real. - Issue and PR numbers come from two repos. This repo is the former
Raven-Scout/scout-plugin, renamedRaven-Scout/Scoutwhen the app moved in, so its own#Nnumbering is scout-plugin's. The old app repo isRaven-Scout/scout-app-legacy(archived). A bare#Ninapps/macos/files or in a pre-move app commit subject, and anyRaven-Scout/Scout#Nwritten before the move, meansRaven-Scout/scout-app-legacy#N. Link old app items there; never rewrite them to a bare#Nhere. - Contract artifacts are generated, never hand-edited. The connector roster
and schedule snapshot each have ONE canonical file under
plugin/engine/scout/, generated from its.yaml, and every client copy underapps/*/is a byte copy of it. To change one, fromplugin/engine: editscout/connectors.yaml(orscout/defaults/schedule.yaml), regenerate the canonical file with.venv/bin/python -m scout.scripts.connectors_snapshot --no-also-write-app-fixture(orschedule_snapshot), then from the repo rootcpit over every client copycontract.ymlchecks. Always pass--no-also-write-app-fixture— the default also writes into a sibling~/scout-appcheckout outside this repo, and never intoapps/.contract.ymlfails the build if a copy drifts. Seedocs/superpowers/specs/2026-09-03-monorepo-consolidation-design.md§7. - The parser corpus has one canonical copy too:
plugin/engine/tests/fixtures/contract/parser-corpus.json. Edit it, setEXPECTED_SHA256(plugin/engine/tests/unit/test_parser_corpus_checksum.py) andcanonicalSHA256(apps/macos/ScoutTests/ActionItems/ParserContractTests.swift) to its newshasum -a 256, thencpit toapps/macos/ScoutTests/Fixtures/parser-corpus.json— all in one commit. (scout-iOS-app vendors a copy in its own repo; seeapps/macos/CLAUDE.md.) - The doctor run-health fixture has one canonical copy too:
plugin/engine/tests/fixtures/contract/doctor-run-health.json, generated — never hand-edited — from the vault builder inplugin/engine/tests/unit/test_doctor_run_health_contract.py: fromplugin/enginerunenv SCOUT_REGEN_CONTRACT=1 .venv/bin/python -m pytest tests/unit/test_doctor_run_health_contract.py, then from the repo rootcpit toapps/macos/ScoutTests/Fixtures/doctor-run-health.jsonand update the pins inapps/macos/ScoutTests/Engine/DoctorReportTests.swift— all in one commit.contract.ymlbyte-compares the two copies. - Never edit a
*.snapshot.jsonby hand. That is what broke the shipped connector roster for four months. - Plugin history was absorbed with
git subtree, SHAs preserved.git blame plugin/<file>crosses the merge to the original commits, butgit log -- plugin/<file>stops at the merge commit — for a plugin file's earlier history rungit log <subtree-merge>^2 -- <path without the plugin/ prefix>(the first subtree merge is the commit titled "absorb scout-plugin into plugin/").
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
