wazap: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

wazap CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from razvangirgiz/wazap. It costs 1,161 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for contributors to the wazap WhatsApp integration package. They describe the TypeScript layout, build and test commands, generated files, and local checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying wazap, building its TypeScript output, running tests, checking types and lint, or following the repository's commit and evaluation conventions.
Why use it?
They give a coding agent the project rules it needs before changing code. This helps prevent editing generated files or treating unbuilt source as tested code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01161 $0.01161
Opus 5.5 $0.00464 $0.00464
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00232 $0.00232
Haiku 4.5 $0.00116 $0.00116

Security

Grade A, and why

wazap CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Contributor notes

wazap is the wazap-mcp npm package; the command it installs is wazap. This file is for people changing the code and is not published. AGENT.md (singular) is a different document: it ships in the package and drives a first-time setup for an agent's user.

Layout

  • src/*.ts — runtime code, ESM, TypeScript strict; npm run build emits dist/ (gitignored), which is what runs. src/whatsapp.ts is one account's service; each thing it does is a part in src/service/.
  • test/*.test.mjs — plain JS on node:test, against the built dist/: a source edit is not tested until npm run build (npm test builds first).
  • scripts/ — repo utilities; scripts/eval/ is the assistant evaluation harness (eval/ holds its cases and fixtures).
  • dist-bundle/, node_modules/ — generated, never edit.

Commands

  • npm run check — the local gate: lint → typecheck → test (which builds).
  • npm run check:clock — the suite on clocks that break day arithmetic, ~3 min.
  • npm run check:linux — in Docker, the tests a change reaches on Node 22.16.0 and 24 (-- --all for the whole suite).
  • npm run bench:db, npm run fold:table — database timing, and regenerating src/db/fold-table.ts. Neither is in the gate.
  • npm run bench:tools — the read tools timed on a copy of a real account (~/.wazap by default); the data dir itself is only read.

The gate and the hook

npm run check is what CI runs on Node 22.16.0 and 24, after npm ci. CI also runs npm audit --omit=dev --audit-level=high, and a weekly Baileys canary tests against the newest Baileys (a red canary blocks nothing).

npm run hooks:install (once per clone) turns on the pre-push hook in scripts/git-hooks/, which runs the gate. Skip it only consciously: git push --no-verify or SKIP_GATE=1 git push.

Commit style

<Area>: <what changed> as a sentence, e.g. Webhook: make message_sent and connection opt-in. Releases are Release X.Y.Z: .... Small commits.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
