ClaudeMarketplace: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

ClaudeMarketplace CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from RealDougEubanks/ClaudeMarketplace. It costs 4,376 tokens per session, scanned B, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for maintaining a repository of reusable Claude Code skills. Claude Code is a coding assistant, and a skill is a reusable set of instructions for it.

In plain words
What is it for?
It guides skill structure, naming, metadata, documentation, validation, and contribution checks in the marketplace repository.
Why use it?
It gives contributors consistent project rules and a required checklist, reducing invalid files and missed validation before commits.

Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} variable. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions Claude Code.

This is RealDougEubanks/ClaudeMarketplace's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on ClaudeMarketplace itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ClaudeMarketplace configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.04376 $0.04376
Opus 5 $0.02188 $0.02188
Sonnet 5 $0.00875 $0.00875
Haiku 4.5 $0.00438 $0.00438

Security

Grade B, and why

ClaudeMarketplace CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Claude Code Skills Marketplace — Project Context

This is the Claude Code Skills Marketplace repository. It is a collection of reusable prompt skills for Claude Code — each skill is a plugin directory under skills/ containing a SKILL.md instruction file at its root, metadata.json (machine-readable metadata), and README.md (human docs).

When working in this repo, your job is to help build, validate, and publish skills. Always follow the contribution conventions below.

Contribution Conventions

  • Skill directory names must be kebab-case (e.g. git-workflow, golden-rules).
  • Each skill directory has this structure: SKILL.md at the plugin root (with YAML frontmatter), metadata.json, README.md, .claude-plugin/plugin.json. There is NO commands/ directory (legacy layout, removed — see docs/decisions/0001-migrate-to-skill-md-layout.md). Multi-skill plugins (agent-based-development) use skills/<sub-skill>/SKILL.md instead of a root SKILL.md.
  • metadata.json must validate against schema/metadata.schema.json.
  • After creating or editing a skill, run ./scripts/validate.sh skills/<skill-name>.
  • After adding a skill directory, update skills/registry.json and run ./scripts/check-registry.sh.
  • Use ./scripts/new-skill.sh <name> to scaffold a new skill. It creates the full directory structure (including .claude-plugin/plugin.json) and registers the skill in registry.json and marketplace.json.
  • Skills are distributed via the Claude Code marketplace — there is no manual install script. Direct users to add this repo as a marketplace in ~/.claude/settings.json.
  • Do not modify skills/example-skill/ — it is the canonical reference for contributors.

Pre-Commit Checklist (MANDATORY — run before every commit)

Always run these checks before committing. CI will fail if any are skipped.

  1. Validate skill structure./scripts/validate.sh skills/<name> for each changed skill.
  2. Sync registry versionsskills/registry.json version must match metadata.json version for every skill. Update registry.json whenever you bump a skill version.
  3. Bump versions — Any skill whose SKILL.md, supporting files, metadata.json, or README.md changed must have its version incremented in all four places: metadata.json, skills/registry.json, .claude-plugin/marketplace.json, and skills/<name>/.claude-plugin/plugin.json. Use semver patch bumps for fixes, minor bumps for new features or layout changes.
  4. Run ShellCheckshellcheck scripts/*.sh tests/*.sh. All scripts must pass with no errors.
  5. Run markdownlintnpx markdownlint-cli2 "skills/**/*.md" "*.md". No bare URLs — wrap emails and URLs in backticks or angle brackets.
  6. Check registration and version sync./scripts/check-registry.sh to confirm every skill directory is registered, and ./scripts/sync-versions.sh --check to confirm versions agree across metadata.json, registry.json, marketplace.json, and plugin.json.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
