codex-proofloop: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

codex-proofloop AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from regenrek/codex-proofloop. It costs 350 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Proofloop, a Git-based system that checks coding changes through real command-line behavior and repeatable results. They describe how to build, format, lint, and run acceptance checks without adding unnecessary permanent tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for maintaining Proofloop, running its command-line acceptance checks, reviewing failure cases, and keeping source and generated runtime files together.
Why use it?
They reduce inconsistent development and testing practices, especially when a project has generated files and needs evidence that changes work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00350 $0.00350
Opus 5.5 $0.00140 $0.00140
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00070 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00035 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

codex-proofloop AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 15d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Proofloop runner development

  • The agent-neutral skill is maintained in instructa/agent-skills, under skills/engineering/proofloop. This repository owns the optional runner only; do not reintroduce a skill entrypoint or duplicate its strategy here. Model, reviewer and transport choices belong to the caller.
  • New permanent tests need a concrete failure and a gap in existing checks before implementation. Prefer the public CLI, real Git repositories and real subprocesses. Do not test copied wording or private helper structure.
  • The optional runner has real external contracts: package.json owns the published package name and executable; src/policy.mts::validatePolicy owns the policy schema; src/cli.mts::main and execute expose commands and consume or produce persisted run records. Preserve these existing consumer boundaries unless deliberately changing them; do not add legacy-shape parsers, aliases or migration code.
  • Edit src/*.mts; npm run build regenerates skills/proofloop/scripts/*.mjs and version metadata. Include source and generated runtime changes together. Keep runtime npm dependencies at zero unless a concrete need justifies one.
  • Use npm run format, npm run lint, npm run format:check and npm run build. npm run acceptance exercises the public CLI in disposable repositories and writes .proofloop/acceptance/result.json; its contract is in docs/runner-acceptance.md.
  • Keep one runner. No model-specific variants, background watchers, duplicate review workflow or new verification framework.
  • Treat local review files as attestations. Local validation does not prove live product behavior, host skill loading, reviewer identity or delivery-speed improvement.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
