geo_mcp_server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

geo_mcp_server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from rickycambrian/geo_mcp_server. It costs 3,109 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a Geo MCP Server, a service that lets software use the Geo protocol SDK to manage knowledge graphs and related workspace data.

In plain words
What is it for?
They guide work on graph, space, reading, governance, workspace, wallet, transaction, and API components.
Why use it?
They give the coding agent the project's architecture and design decisions so changes fit the existing system.

This is rickycambrian/geo_mcp_server's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on geo_mcp_server itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything geo_mcp_server configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03109 $0.03109
Opus 5 $0.01554 $0.01554
Sonnet 5 $0.00622 $0.00622
Haiku 4.5 $0.00311 $0.00311

Security

Grade A, and why

geo_mcp_server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

Geo MCP Server

MCP server that provides full access to the Geo protocol SDK for knowledge graph operations.

Architecture

  • src/index.ts - Entry point (stdio transport)
  • src/server.ts - Server setup, registers all tool modules
  • src/state/session.ts - Singleton edit session managing op accumulation
  • src/tools/graph.ts - Core graph operations (create/update/delete property, type, entity, relation, image)
  • src/tools/spaces.ts - Wallet config, space management, publishing, DAO proposals, canvas workflows
  • src/tools/advanced.ts - High-level UX tools (build_schema, create_knowledge_graph, get_system_ids)
  • src/tools/read.ts - Read/query tools via GraphQL API (search, get entity/space/proposal, list)
  • src/tools/governance.ts - DAO governance write tools (vote, propose editor/subspace changes)
  • src/tools/workspace.ts - Workspace entity CRUD (notes, tasks, projects)
  • src/tools/helpers.ts - Shared ok()/err() MCP response helpers
  • src/utils/wallet.ts - Shared wallet configuration helpers (ensureWalletConfigured, normalizeAddress)
  • src/utils/tx-executor.ts - Dual-mode transaction executor (PRIVATE_KEY vs APPROVAL)
  • src/api/client.ts - Fetch-based GraphQL client + UUID format helpers

Key Design Decisions

  • Session-based op accumulation: All graph operations auto-accumulate ops in a singleton session. publish_edit sends all accumulated ops as one edit, then clears the session.
  • Smart account by default: Uses Geo's gas-sponsored smart accounts (Pimlico paymaster) so users don't need testnet ETH.
  • Dual wallet mode: executeTransaction() abstracts over PRIVATE_KEY (auto-sign) and APPROVAL (return unsigned tx) modes. See .claude/skills/wallet-approval-mode/ for the full pattern, especially the multi-tx continuation chain for propose -> vote -> execute.
  • Name-based resolution: High-level tools like create_knowledge_graph resolve references by name, not ID.
  • Dashless UUID convention: All IDs returned to MCP consumers use dashless 32-char hex. The GraphQL API uses dashed UUIDs internally.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
