bloggingskills: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

bloggingskills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from RightBlogger/bloggingskills. It costs 980 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A collection of writing skills for blogging agents. Each skill is a folder with instructions and optional reference material, and can be selected from a user’s request or run as a slash command.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps build, describe, organise, and maintain skills for tasks such as writing articles and making text sound more human.
Why use it?
It gives different blogging tasks a shared structure, routing rules, and writing standards so the content stays consistent and does not read like generic AI text.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00980 $0.00980
Opus 5 $0.00490 $0.00490
Sonnet 5 $0.00196 $0.00196
Haiku 4.5 $0.00098 $0.00098

Measured 7d ago against content hash f7f691847f02, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

bloggingskills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

Guidance for agents and contributors working in this repo. It governs how skills are written so they stay consistent, portable, and on-brand. The brand is simple: content that doesn't read like AI.

What this repo is

A collection of Agent Skills for blogging. Each skill is a folder under skills/ with a SKILL.md and optional references/. Skills are model-invoked: the agent matches the user's request against each skill's description and loads the best fit. They also work as slash commands (/article, /humanize).

Skill structure

skills/<name>/
├── SKILL.md # required, under 500 lines
└── references/ # optional, loaded on demand
  • Frontmatter has exactly name and description, plus a metadata block with version.
    • name: lowercase, hyphenated, matches the folder name (1 to 64 chars).
    • description: the trigger, and the most important field. It does three jobs: (1) what the skill does, (2) the phrases a user would say to invoke it ("Also use when the user says '...'"), and (3) scope boundaries pointing to sibling skills ("For X, see Y."). The agent routes on this.
  • Body: an H1 title, a second-person role line, an "Initial assessment" that reads shared context first, a numbered method, an "Output" section, and a "Related skills" line.
  • Keep SKILL.md under 500 lines. Move depth into references/ and link to it.

The foundation contract

Two skills are read first by every writing skill:

  • blog-context writes .agents/blog-context.md (niche, audience, voice). Every skill's "Initial assessment" reads it, so the user explains their blog once.
  • house-style owns references/ai-tells.md, the writing rulebook. Every skill that produces prose loads it before drafting.

The rulebook is duplicated on purpose

references/ai-tells.md is the crown jewel. The canonical copy lives in house-style/. humanize/ and article/ each bundle a copy so they work when installed alone. If you edit the canonical file, re-sync the copies (cp skills/house-style/references/ai-tells.md skills/humanize/references/ai-tells.md, and the same for article/). scripts/validate.py fails if they drift.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
