telique-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

telique-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Ringer/telique-mcp. It costs 1,017 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file for telique-mcp, a TypeScript server that exposes an API through MCP. It documents the project layout, development commands, validation steps, and coding conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding MCP tools, changing API or configuration code, updating shared utilities, building the server, or validating its OpenAPI description.
Why use it?
It gives an agent clear rules for where code belongs and how to check changes. This helps avoid editing generated files or submitting code that fails the build or API checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01017 $0.01017
Opus 5.5 $0.00407 $0.00407
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00203 $0.00203
Haiku 4.5 $0.00102 $0.00102

Security

Grade A, and why

telique-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Module Organization

src/index.ts is the stdio MCP entry point; src/lib.ts exposes the reusable library surface. API access and configuration live in src/client.ts and src/config.ts. Add MCP registrations under src/tools/, shared helpers under src/utils/, and shared interfaces in src/types.ts. Keep the tool knowledge text in src/knowledge.ts. scripts/validate-openapi.ts checks openapi.yaml against expected endpoints. dist/ is generated output and should not be edited by hand. Installation guidance belongs in README.md or INSTALL.md; focused design notes belong in docs/.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

  • npm ci installs the lockfile-pinned dependencies (Node 22 is used in CI).
  • npm run dev runs the TypeScript stdio server directly with tsx.
  • npm run build compiles strict TypeScript and declarations into dist/.
  • npm start runs the compiled CLI from dist/index.js.
  • npm run validate:openapi verifies required API paths and parameters in openapi.yaml.

Run the build and OpenAPI validation before submitting changes. Publishing is release-driven through .github/workflows/publish.yml; do not publish manually as part of ordinary development.

Releasing

  1. Bump version with npm version X.Y.Z --no-git-tag-version. This updates both package.json and package-lock.json; keep them in sync.
  2. Merge the PR to main.
  3. Run gh release create vX.Y.Z --target main with release notes. Publishing the release triggers publish.yml, which runs npm publish --provenance. Pushing a tag alone does nothing.
  4. Confirm the release on the registry (curl https://registry.npmjs.org/telique-mcp). Registry metadata can lag a successful publish by about 2 minutes.

The NPM_TOKEN secret is a granular npm token that must have read and write access to the telique-mcp package specifically. npm caps these at 90 days; the current one expires around 2027-01-07. An E404 ... PUT from npm publish means the token is expired or wrongly scoped, not that the package is missing. To recover, set a new token with gh secret set NPM_TOKEN, then run gh run rerun <run-id> --failed.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
