CLAUDE.md

Claude-Patent-Creator CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from RobThePCGuy/Claude-Patent-Creator. It costs 5,012 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for using Claude Patent Creator, a tool for researching patents and patent rules through Claude Code. MPEP is the US guide used by patent examiners and practitioners.

In plain words
What is it for?
Searching patent literature, checking requirements such as claim clarity, and setting up the tool with suitable computer-processing support.
Why use it?
They describe setup and the commands needed to install the tool, prepare its patent-document index, and connect it to Claude Code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.05012 $0.05012
Opus 5 $0.02506 $0.02506
Sonnet 5 $0.01002 $0.01002
Haiku 4.5 $0.00501 $0.00501

Measured 8d ago against content hash 791b2aafe4ee, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

Claude-Patent-Creator CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Quick Start

As a Claude Code Plugin (Recommended)

# In Claude Code — add the marketplace and install the plugin
/plugin marketplace add RobThePCGuy/Claude-Patent-Creator
/plugin install claude-patent-creator-standalone@claude-patent-creator

As a pip Package (MCP Server Mode)

# One-line install (works with or without venv)
pip install git+https://github.com/RobThePCGuy/Claude-Patent-Creator.git && patent-creator setup

# Restart Claude Code

# Test the system
# Ask Claude: "Search MPEP for claim definiteness requirements"
# Ask Claude: "Search for patents about neural networks filed in 2024"

What happens automatically:

  1. Installs package from GitHub
  2. Detects GPU (NVIDIA/Apple Silicon/CPU)
  3. Uninstalls CPU PyTorch if GPU detected
  4. Installs correct PyTorch (CUDA 12.8/MPS/CPU)
  5. Restarts setup in subprocess with GPU-enabled PyTorch
  6. Downloads MPEP PDFs and builds index with GPU acceleration
  7. Registers MCP server with Claude Code

Optional: Use venv if preferred

python -m venv venv
venv\Scripts\activate # Windows
source venv/bin/activate # Linux/macOS
pip install git+https://github.com/RobThePCGuy/Claude-Patent-Creator.git && patent-creator setup

What you can do now:

  • Search 100M+ patents via BigQuery (worldwide)
  • Search US patent law (MPEP, 35 USC, 37 CFR)
  • Search EPO patent law (EPC, EPO Guidelines) and PCT rules
  • Review patent applications for USPTO, EPO, or PCT compliance
  • Search EP patents via EPO OPS API (full-text claims/description)
  • Generate patent-style technical diagrams
  • Create complete patent applications from scratch

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
