Lint-AI: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

Lint-AI AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from RooAGI/Lint-AI. It costs 222 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of project instructions for Lint-AI that explains how to use project memory, check past decisions, and follow configuration and writing preferences.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working in the RooAGI/Lint-AI project, especially for historical questions, Python extension packaging, or response-style rules.
Why use it?
It helps an agent look up project history before answering questions about earlier choices, while warning that remembered findings may be out of date.

This is RooAGI/Lint-AI's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on Lint-AI itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything Lint-AI configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00222 $0.00222
Opus 5.5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00044 $0.00044
Haiku 4.5 $0.00022 $0.00022

Security

Grade A, and why

Lint-AI AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Lint-AI memory policy

For requests about project history, prior decisions, architectural choices, earlier work, or "why" something was implemented, call the lint-ai MCP server's search tool before reading files or searching the repository.

  1. Call search with a concise query describing the missing context.
  2. Read the returned sources before opening files yourself.
  3. Say plainly when memory returned nothing, and only then fall back to reading the repository.

Recorded sessions are memory of this project, not documentation of it: a finding can be out of date. Check a conclusion against the code before relying on it, and prefer the most recent one when two disagree.

User preferences

Prefer tool-native configuration over environment variables when a clean, supported alternative exists. For Python extension packaging, use Maturin's supported workflow and let it manage PyO3 extension linker settings.

In written responses, avoid --- separators and keep punctuation and phrasing simple.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
