CMP-server_Pocket option 2026 — project memory for Claude Code

Async client + MCP server for the PocketOption WebSocket API. The core (client.py, _transport.py, models.py) is model-agnostic; mcp_server.py and the run_*.py scripts are thin facades over it.

Python version — DO NOT CHANGE

IMPORTANT: this project runs on the Python version pinned in .python-version (currently 3.13). YOU MUST NOT change the interpreter, delete or recreate the .venv, or regenerate the environment against a different Python version. A previous session silently switched everything to 3.11 — that must not happen again. If you think a version change is warranted, STOP and ask first.

Three separate knobs — none of them is your local default, and none should be "modernized" to match it:

.python-version → the interpreter this checkout uses (3.13). uv and pyenv read it when creating the venv. Do not edit unless the user asks.
requires-python = ">=3.10" in pyproject.toml → the range the package supports. Deliberately broad. Do NOT narrow it or bump it to your interpreter.
ruff target-version = py310, mypy python_version = 3.10 → the oldest version we lint/type-check for. Do NOT raise these; it would silently drop 3.10 compatibility.

The optional TradingView MCP server needs Python ≤ 3.13, so never pin above 3.13.

Environment

Use the existing .venv; do not delete or rebuild it.
Install with pip install -e ".[dev]" (never a bare command that could pull a different Python).
Secrets live in env vars (PO_SSID), never in code. sessions/ holds the account token — never commit or print it.

Commands (verify every change with these)

Tests: pytest — 66 offline tests, no network or SSID needed.

Non-negotiable rules

Demo is the default everywhere. Live orders require allow_real=True / PO_ALLOW_REAL=1; never enable real-money trading by default.
mcp_server.py logs to stderr only — the stdio transport requires a clean stdout. Never add print() there.
The positional parse indices in models.py (_ASSET_*, candle/deal layouts) are covered by offline fixtures in tests/. If you change them, update the tests in the same commit.
Do not commit .venv/, .idea/, sessions/, strategies/, opinions.json, or dump.jsonl (already git-ignored).
