Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.03563 | $0.03563 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.01425 | $0.01425 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00713 | $0.00713 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00356 | $0.00356 |
Grade A, and why
s3dlio CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 257 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
s3dlio — session rules
RULE #1 — ZERO COPY, EVERYWHERE
VERY IMPORTANT: The s3dlio repository is ALWAYS Zero Copy EVERYWHERE, unless OTHERWISE EXPLICITLY noted in the documentation, and comments.
The entire reason s3dlio exists is to be faster than libraries that copy payload data around in memory. Every copy of payload bytes is a defect unless it is one of the few documented exceptions below.
- Never copy payload data to convert, buffer, "simplify", satisfy a type signature or make
ownership easier: no
to_vec(),Bytes::copy_from_slice,extend_from_sliceinto an accumulation buffer,Vec::from(&[u8]),.clone()of a buffer,PyBytes::new(py, &data),bytes(obj),.tobytes()orread()into a new buffer on a payload path. Hand data along asBytes(refcounted slices), borrowed exports kept alive by a guard, or a caller's buffer. - Accepting another data type never means copying it. numpy arrays, bytearray, memoryview,
BytesViewand other buffer-protocol objects are read in place through the buffer protocol. Results go back asBytesView(or into the caller's buffer), never as a newbytescopy. - The only acceptable copies are the unavoidable ones: the single copy from the network /
SDK chunk (or the kernel) into the final destination, a transform (compression, encryption,
format decode), O_DIRECT bounce buffers for unaligned memory, a non-contiguous source that must
be gathered, an object that only offers
__bytes__, an API that explicitly returnsbytesfor compatibility, or a copy the caller explicitly opts into. Each such copy MUST be documented in the user documentation AND in a comment at the copy site saying why it cannot be avoided. - Every change to a data path proves it is zero-copy with a test (pointer identity, a refcount/owner check, or a peak-memory bound), not with a claim.
- Why copies matter: performance. Each copy of the payload costs roughly half the throughput of the path it sits on; memory use is secondary. So the test of any copy is measured speed: a single copy is acceptable when it makes the path measurably FASTER (for example coalescing many tiny writes into one part buffer instead of tracking thousands of borrowed buffers). Such a copy must be bounded, measured (benchmark numbers in the commit or plan), documented and commented like the other exceptions.
- If you think a copy is unavoidable, it is not your call: ask the maintainer first.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

s3dlio CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository russfellows/s3dlio (10 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 3,563 tokens to every session, about $0.0143 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-26.
