Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01782 | $0.01782 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00891 | $0.00891 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00356 | $0.00356 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00178 | $0.00178 |
Grade A, and why
apple-mail-fast-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 131 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Apple Mail Fast MCP — shared agent instructions
This is the canonical project guidance for Codex and Claude Code. Read it at the start of work, then load only the domain references needed for the task.
Project map
Python 3.10+, FastMCP, AppleScript via osascript, IMAP via imapclient, and
SMTP. The server exposes structured MCP tools for Apple Mail on macOS.
All modules below live in src/apple_mail_fast_mcp/:
server.py: tool registration, validation, confirmation gates, responses.mail_connector.py: domain logic and dispatch between AppleScript and network paths.imap_connector.py: IMAP reads, mutations, connection pool, and tiered thread lookup (Gmail X-GM-THRID, IMAP THREAD, header-search BFS).draft_builder.py,smtp_sender.py: MIME construction and clean SMTP sends. Drafts can use IMAP APPEND; compose/send is not exclusively AppleScript. Credentials and account/seed information determine which path engages.security.py,utils.py,exceptions.py: safety gates, sanitization, escaping, parsing, and typed errors.drafts.py,templates.py,imap_overrides.py,keychain.py: state and credentials.
AppleScript is the baseline for many operations, with optional IMAP fast paths. Some mailbox operations require IMAP. Fallback is not a guarantee of equivalent latency or completeness: preserve partial/incomplete-result reporting and never turn an indeterminate lookup into a definitive not-found result.
Use TOOLS.md for the API and
ARCHITECTURE.md for dispatch details. Read current
code before changing a path. pyproject.toml is authoritative for version and
dependencies; collect tests and run coverage for current counts. Do not add
hand-maintained line counts, timings, or test totals to these instructions.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

apple-mail-fast-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository s-morgan-jeffries/apple-mail-fast-mcp (102 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 1,782 tokens to every session, about $0.0089 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-08.
