Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.05238 | $0.05238 |

Grade A, and why
finnhub-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.
9. **MANDATORY: live-smoke against real Finnhub** with the running server before marking the PR ready. `dotnet run` locally, hit each new tool via curl or Claude Code, confirm the response shape. Mocks alone don't catch How it starts

Project overview
finnhub-mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, built on the official ModelContextProtocol C# SDK, that exposes Finnhub's financial-data APIs to MCP-compatible clients (Claude Desktop, IDE assistants, agents). The server supports HTTP and STDIO transports and follows Clean Architecture across three projects.
Build, test, format
dotnet build # build all projects
dotnet test # run all xUnit test projects
dotnet test --settings coverlet.runsettings # tests with coverage
dotnet format # apply formatting + analyzers
dotnet watch --project src/FinnHub.MCP.Server # hot reload (HTTP transport)
TreatWarningsAsErrors is enabled in Directory.Build.props - any analyzer or compiler warning fails the build. Don't suppress warnings; fix them.
Running locally
dotnet run --project src/FinnHub.MCP.Server # HTTP on :8080
dotnet run --project src/FinnHub.MCP.Server -- --stdio # STDIO transport
The Finnhub API key is read from the FINNHUB_API_KEY environment variable, or from dotnet user-secrets (FinnHub:ApiKey) in Development. A legacy .env (loaded by DotNetEnv in Development) is still honoured as a fallback, but it is git-ignored and a pre-commit hook blocks it from being staged. Never hardcode the key or commit .env.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
