mediagateway CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from samagra14/mediagateway. It costs 2,210 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for MediaRouter, an API gateway that gives one interface for AI video-generation services such as OpenAI Sora, Runway, and Kling AI.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to install and run MediaRouter, update or restart its services, inspect backend logs, and build the backend and frontend locally.
Why use it?
It explains how to start the system with prepared container images or run a local source build when code changes are needed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02210 $0.02210
Opus 5 $0.01105 $0.01105
Sonnet 5 $0.00442 $0.00442
Haiku 4.5 $0.00221 $0.00221

Security

Grade A, and why

mediagateway CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

MediaRouter is an open-source unified API gateway for AI video generation providers (OpenAI Sora, Runway, Kling AI). It provides an OpenAI-compatible API with BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys) model, built with FastAPI backend and React frontend.

Development Commands

Quick Start (Recommended - Uses Pre-built Images)

./setup.sh                    # Initial setup - pulls pre-built images automatically
docker compose up -d # Start all services
docker compose down # Stop all services
docker compose pull # Update to latest images
docker compose restart backend # Restart backend only
docker compose logs -f backend # View backend logs

Pre-built Docker images are automatically pulled from GitHub Container Registry (ghcr.io). No build time required!

Local Development (Building from Source)

For development when you need to modify code:

# Use local build compose file
docker compose -f docker-compose.local.yml up --build

# Or uncomment "build:" lines in docker-compose.yml and:
docker compose build
docker compose up -d

Local Development (Without Docker)

Backend:

cd backend
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
python run.py  # Runs on http://localhost:3001

Frontend:

cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev # Runs on http://localhost:5173 or :3000

Backend with hot reload:

cd backend
uvicorn src.main:app --reload --port 3001

Testing

# Backend tests
cd backend
pytest

# Frontend linting
cd frontend
npm run lint

# Frontend build
npm run build

Architecture Overview

Provider System

Adding a new video provider:

  1. Create new file in backend/src/providers/newprovider.py
  2. Inherit from VideoProvider base class (see backend/src/providers/base.py)
  3. Implement required methods:
    • name property
    • models property
    • validate_key() - Validate API key
    • generate_video() - Start video generation
    • check_status() - Poll generation status
    • get_supported_features() - Declare provider capabilities
  4. Register in backend/src/providers/__init__.py:
    • Add to PROVIDERS dict
    • Add models to MODEL_PROVIDER_MAP

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
