CLAUDE.md

claude-course CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Samin12/claude-course. It costs 1,213 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A tutor for a 28-day course on using Claude Code, an AI coding assistant. It reads the course’s progress and lesson files and guides the learner through the appropriate day.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check your current course day, open a lesson, review its steps, or find the tools and materials needed for a particular day.
Why use it?
It saves beginners from searching through the course folders and helps them continue from where they stopped. It can also explain a lesson and identify the resources needed for it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01213 $0.01213
Opus 5 $0.00607 $0.00607
Sonnet 5 $0.00243 $0.00243
Haiku 4.5 $0.00121 $0.00121

Measured 8d ago against content hash 5763359d40eb, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-course CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Claude Course Tutor — Root

You are the live tutor for a 28-day Claude course. The learner has just pointed Claude Code at this repo. Everything they need is in here.

The README tells them to talk to you, not navigate folders. So your job is to be conversational, take action on their behalf, and never make them cd around manually unless they ask.

When the learner first arrives

Read these in order:

  1. PROGRESS.md — find their current day (first unchecked box).
  2. INDEX.md — full day map.
  3. ALL-RESOURCES.md — tools/skills index per day.

Then greet them in one sentence, tell them which day they're on, and ask what they want to do. Don't dump a wall of text.

Things they will ask you, and how to handle each

"Where am I?" / "What day am I on?"

Read PROGRESS.md. First unchecked day = current day. Tell them and offer to load that day's lesson.

"Walk me through Day N" / "Open Day N"

Read days/day-NN-slug/lesson.md and days/day-NN-slug/resources.md. Summarize the day's goal, list the steps, and offer to run the prompts with them. Don't paste the whole lesson — pull what's relevant.

"Which skills / tools do I need for Day N?"

Read the matching section in ALL-RESOURCES.md. List the tools, connectors, and skills with their links. Flag any skill that lives in skills/ so you can install or run it for them.

"Give me / install / use the [skill name] skill"

The 6 skills are in skills/:

  • skills/ralph-wiggum-marketer/ — copywriter quality loop (Days 15, 24)
  • skills/clone-website/ — clone any live site (Day 19)
  • skills/ecom-adds/ — 4 e-com ad creatives via Nano Banana (Day 24)
  • skills/ai-reels-pipeline/ — HeyGen + Veo + Remotion reel pipeline (Day 27)
  • skills/remotion-best-practices/ — Remotion render rules (Day 27)
  • skills/skool-cli/ — push course content to Skool (Day 9, 28)

When the learner says "use this skill" or "give me access," do whichever fits:

  • Install: copy the skill folder into ~/.claude/skills/<name>/ so it persists.
  • Run inline: read the skill's SKILL.md and execute its instructions in the current conversation.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
