comfyui-mcp CLAUDE.md

comfyui-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from sandyup/comfyui-mcp. It costs 681 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for developing and testing comfyui-mcp, a tool connection for ComfyUI, a node-based application for creating images. They describe local builds, cached plugin files, and issue tracking.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing comfyui-mcp, testing it locally with npm link, synchronizing plugin files, or managing its beads issues.
Why use it?
They document where changes must be built and copied so the development version is used correctly. They also explain how to reconnect the MCP tools and track work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00681 $0.00681
Opus 5 $0.00341 $0.00341
Sonnet 5 $0.00136 $0.00136
Haiku 4.5 $0.00068 $0.00068

Measured 4d ago against content hash dda2f597a376, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

comfyui-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 77 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Development Notes

The developer uses npm link so that npx comfyui-mcp resolves to the local build at C:\Users\klutt\code\comfyui-mcp\dist\.

DO NOT modify plugin/.mcp.json to point to a local path. It must stay as:

{
  "comfyui": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y", "comfyui-mcp"]
  }
}

This works for both:

  • Public users: npx downloads from npm
  • Developer: npm link makes npx resolve to the local build

After code changes: npm run build then /mcp reconnect in Claude Code.

Plugin File Sync

The plugin runs from cached copies, not the source tree. After changing files in plugin/:

  • Cache: ~/.claude/plugins/cache/comfyui-mcp/comfy/0.1.0/
  • Marketplace: ~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/comfyui-mcp/plugin/

Copy changed files to both locations, then restart Claude Code for hooks or /mcp for MCP tools.

Beads Issue Tracker

This project uses bd (beads) for issue tracking. Run bd prime to see full workflow context and commands.

Quick Reference

bd ready # Find available work
bd show <id> # View issue details
bd update <id> --claim # Claim work
bd close <id> # Complete work

Rules

  • Use bd for ALL task tracking — do NOT use TodoWrite, TaskCreate, or markdown TODO lists
  • Run bd prime for detailed command reference and session close protocol
  • Use bd remember for persistent knowledge — do NOT use MEMORY.md files

Session Completion

When ending a work session, you MUST complete ALL steps below. Work is NOT complete until git push succeeds.

MANDATORY WORKFLOW:

  1. File issues for remaining work - Create issues for anything that needs follow-up
  2. Run quality gates (if code changed) - Tests, linters, builds
  3. Update issue status - Close finished work, update in-progress items
  4. PUSH TO REMOTE - This is MANDATORY:
    git pull --rebase
    bd dolt push
    git push
    git status # MUST show "up to date with origin"

  5. Clean up - Clear stashes, prune remote branches
  6. Verify - All changes committed AND pushed
  7. Hand off - Provide context for next session

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
