A project instruction file for syncing Granola meeting notes into a local Git repository for analysis. It describes the sync scripts, stored files, and Claude Code commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the sync process, adding a data source, or working with the scripts and commands that manage meeting notes.
Why use it?
It explains where meeting data lives and how it moves from Granola into version-controlled files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.01344 $0.01344
Opus 5 $0.00672 $0.00672
Sonnet 5 $0.00269 $0.00269
Haiku 4.5 $0.00134 $0.00134

Measured 5d ago against content hash a41dd91d1226, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-code-granola-sync CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Purpose

This repository provides tools to sync Granola meeting notes into a local git repository for AI-assisted analysis. It enables comprehensive review of product decisions, team discussions, and meeting context.

Architecture

Data Flow Pattern

The repository uses a local sync architecture:

  1. Local Sync (versioned in git): Documents synced to main/sources/[source-name]/ for offline access and version tracking
  2. Python Sync Scripts: Located in scripts/sync-[source-name].py, handle data extraction and transformation
  3. Claude Code Slash Commands: Located in .claude/commands/, provide user-friendly interfaces to sync scripts

└── .claude/
└── commands/ # Slash commands for sync operations
        └── sync-granola.md

Data Source Architecture

Each data source follows a consistent pattern:

  1. Source Directory: main/sources/[source-name]/

    • Contains synced markdown files with YAML frontmatter
    • Includes README.md with source-specific documentation
    • Includes .sync-config.json with sync preferences
    • Includes .last-sync timestamp file (updated by sync script)
    • Includes .last-auto-sync notification file (updated by auto-sync hook)
  2. Sync Script: scripts/sync-[source-name].py

    • Python 3.7+ script with argparse CLI
    • Reads from local cache or API
    • Outputs structured markdown files
    • Preserves full metadata in YAML frontmatter
  3. Auto-Sync Script: scripts/auto-sync-[source-name].sh

    • Bash script triggered by SessionStart hook
    • Automatically syncs new data since last sync
    • Writes detailed summary to .last-auto-sync notification file
    • Summary includes: meeting count, date range, meeting titles, transcript status

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
