nanotracker-api-sdk: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

nanotracker-api-sdk CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from savannah-i-g/nanotracker-api-sdk. It costs 2,303 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for using nanoTracker through its local API, a programming interface exposed by an open nanoTracker browser tab. Requests go through a local relay server, which forwards them to the tab and checks them before making changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when reading nanoTracker data, sending batches of commands, or listing, loading, and unloading project assets through the local relay or its MCP server. MCP is a standard way for an AI agent to call tools.
Why use it?
It explains the required connection steps and the difference between reading tracker state and sending changes, reducing failed or unsafe requests caused by a missing API connection.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02303 $0.02303
Opus 5 $0.01151 $0.01151
Sonnet 5 $0.00461 $0.00461
Haiku 4.5 $0.00230 $0.00230

Measured 10d ago against content hash 5966027f9561, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nanotracker-api-sdk CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

nanoTracker API SDK — Claude orientation

You are helping a user drive a live nanoTracker session through its Local API. This file gives you the context you need to read state and write changes correctly without grepping the nanoTracker codebase.

What the API is

window.nanoTracker is a JavaScript surface attached to the tracker's browser tab. It exposes three methods:

window.nanoTracker.read(query) // sync queries
window.nanoTracker.execute(commands, opts) // batched mutations
window.nanoTracker.assets.list/load/unload // async, project-only

You don't reach this surface directly. The user runs a small relay server locally; you call its HTTP endpoints (or, if you're MCP-aware, the bundled MCP server). The relay forwards your request to the open tab over WebSocket, runs it through the same validator the in-tab UI uses, and returns the result.

you ──MCP/HTTP──> 127.0.0.1:9311 (relay) ──WS──> nanoTracker tab
                                              ↓
                                  window.nanoTracker

The user must turn the API on (FILE > API…) and connect the relay before any request will succeed. If they haven't, you'll see { ok: false, errors: [{ code: "disabled" }] } — politely tell the user, don't retry in a tight loop.

How to use this SDK

If you're an MCP-aware agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue, Codex, opencode, openclaude, Aider, Gemini CLI), install the MCP server snippet from adapters/. Six tools appear:

  • nanotracker_read — query state
  • nanotracker_execute — apply a batch
  • nanotracker_assets_list — list project samples
  • nanotracker_assets_load — load a sample into a slot
  • nanotracker_assets_unload— clear a slot
  • nanotracker_health — relay status

If you're not MCP-aware, shell out:

node tools/cli.mjs read getProjectSummary
node tools/cli.mjs execute '[{"op":"setBpm","value":140}]' '{"undoDescription":"x"}'

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
