faceit-mcp AGENTS.md

faceit-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from sebazai/faceit-mcp. It costs 410 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for an AI coding assistant working on a FACEIT server. FACEIT is a gaming platform, and the instructions explain generated tools, runtime code, API keys, and testing.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when regenerating FACEIT API tools, changing tool descriptions or signatures, editing the server client, or testing changes.
Why use it?
They prevent changes to files that will be overwritten during code generation and help keep secrets out of the repository.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00410 $0.00410
Opus 5 $0.00205 $0.00205
Sonnet 5 $0.00082 $0.00082
Haiku 4.5 $0.00041 $0.00041

Measured 4d ago against content hash 65ccd980b0eb, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

faceit-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Agent guidelines for faceit-mcp

Generated code

Every file under src/faceit_mcp/tools/ (including __init__.py) is auto-generated from swagger.json by scripts/generate_tools.py. Do not hand-edit these files — your changes will be clobbered on the next regeneration.

To change a tool's signature or description:

  1. Update scripts/generate_tools.py. The most common edits are:
    • TAG_HINTS — the "Use this when / Prefer X when" block that is appended to each tool description. This is the main lever for making tools easier to pick.
    • OPERATION_OVERRIDES — rename or re-summarise individual operations (keyed by (operationId, path)).
  2. Place the current swagger.json at the repo root (it is gitignored).
  3. Run python scripts/generate_tools.py.
  4. Review the diff under src/faceit_mcp/tools/ and commit it together with the generator change.

Runtime code

src/faceit_mcp/{server,client,config,errors}.py are hand-written and safe to edit. Keep the HTTP client single-purpose — all API-specific behaviour belongs in the generator's hints, not in the client.

Secrets

swagger.json and .env are gitignored. Never commit a real FACEIT_API_KEY. When demonstrating the server, always substitute a placeholder such as YOUR_KEY_HERE.

Testing a change

After regenerating, assert that all 64 tools still register cleanly:

FACEIT_API_KEY=placeholder python -c "
import asyncio
from faceit_mcp.server import mcp
tools = asyncio.run(mcp.list_tools())
assert len(tools) == 64, len(tools)
print('OK', len(tools))
"
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
