iac-security-scan-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

iac-security-scan-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from senaykt/iac-security-scan-skills. It costs 2,587 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for scanning AWS infrastructure-as-code, configuration files that define cloud resources, for security risks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Mapping cloud infrastructure and assessing privilege escalation, internet exposure, secrets, logging gaps, serverless risks, and chained attacks.
Why use it?
They organize the analysis of Terraform and CloudFormation code to uncover exposed services, leaked secrets, excessive permissions, and linked attack paths.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02587 $0.02587
Opus 5 $0.01293 $0.01293
Sonnet 5 $0.00517 $0.00517
Haiku 4.5 $0.00259 $0.00259

Security

Grade A, and why

iac-security-scan-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IaC Security Scanner

AI-powered infrastructure-as-code security assessment. Detects privilege escalation paths, internet exposure, secrets leaks, logging blind spots, serverless attack surfaces, and chained attack paths across AWS Terraform and CloudFormation codebases.

How It Works

The assessment runs in three steps:

Step 1 — Codebase Analysis

The iac-analysis skill maps the full repository: technology stack, environments, resource inventory, architecture patterns, internet exposure points, trust boundaries, and cross-account relationships. It writes its findings to iac-scan/analysis.md, including a File Routing table that maps each IaC file to the downstream skills that need it.

Step 2 — Security Analysis (parallel)

All 6 security analysis skills run in parallel as subagents. Each skill receives only the IaC files routed to it by the File Routing table in iac-scan/analysis.md, plus the analysis context. Each skill follows a multi-pass approach: first discovery/enumeration, then contextual reasoning, then attack path construction.

Skill Focus Output
iac-iam IAM policies, privilege escalation, trust chains, PassRole abuse, cross-account trust iac-scan/iam-results.md
iac-network VPC topology, security groups, public exposure, segmentation, egress analysis iac-scan/network-results.md
iac-storage S3 buckets, RDS/DynamoDB, encryption, backup/DR, data classification, ransomware readiness iac-scan/storage-results.md
iac-secrets Hardcoded credentials, state file risks, CI/CD secret exposure, env var secrets iac-scan/secrets-results.md
iac-logging-monitoring CloudTrail gaps, GuardDuty coverage, detection blind spots, forensic readiness iac-scan/logging-monitoring-results.md
iac-serverless Lambda exposure, API Gateway auth, event injection, denial-of-wallet, Function URLs iac-scan/serverless-results.md

Step 2.5 — Attack Chain Correlation

After all Step 2 skills complete, the iac-attack-chain skill reads all Step 2 results and constructs composite, cross-domain attack paths that no individual skill can see. It identifies internet-to-admin compromise paths, ransomware propagation chains, data exfiltration routes, and performs minimum-cut analysis to find the smallest set of fixes that breaks the most attack paths. Output: iac-scan/attack-chain-results.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
