What is everything-mcp AGENTS.md?

A set of coding-agent instructions for everything-mcp, a Windows-only MCP server that searches files through Everything. Everything is a Windows desktop search program that indexes file names for fast lookup.

Build & Run

No test suite, linter, or formatter. pnpm build (tsc) is the only verification step.

Build chain: tsc compiles src/ → dist/ → postbuild.mjs copies SDK DLLs from source dirs into dist/ and copies the everything-mcp.js npx entry template.

Publish: prepack script runs npm run build. Only dist/ is included in the published package.

Prerequisites

Windows only — Everything SDK is Windows-only
Everything 1.4+ must be installed and running
everything_sdk3/dll/ (SDK v3, Everything 1.5) and Everything-SDK/dll/ (SDK v2, Everything 1.4) ship in the repo and get copied to dist/ by postbuild.mjs
