rainkeeper: Instructions file for Gemini CLI

GEMINI.md

rainkeeper GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Gemini CLI from simonives/rainkeeper. It costs 694 tokens per session, scanned A, a copy of rainkeeper AGENTS.md, MIT.

Gemini CLI instructions for Rainkeeper, a Python server that connects coding agents to the Raindrop.io bookmark service. They cover project-specific API details, workflow rules, and required test-driven development (TDD).

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when Gemini CLI works on Rainkeeper's API code, tests, branches, or development process.
Why use it?
They tell Gemini CLI how this repository differs from a typical Python project and which rules take priority.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00694 $0.00694
Opus 5.5 $0.00278 $0.00278
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00139 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00069 $0.00069

Security

Grade A, and why

rainkeeper GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 24d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

GEMINI.md — Rainkeeper

Rainkeeper is Simon's own open-source MCP server for Raindrop.io, described here for Gemini operating directly on this repo via Antigravity. It fixes two bugs in existing community alternatives: it works on free Raindrop accounts (the official MCP requires Pro), and collection moves actually work (correct {"collection": {"$id": n}} request body format). MIT licence.

Language: Python Framework: FastMCP Repo: ~/git/rainkeeper Registered as: rainkeeper in Claude Desktop and CLI (mcp__rainkeeper__ tool prefix)

Scope

This repo's delta over generic Python/FastMCP competence: the Raindrop-specific API bug fixes, and the mandatory Superpowers development methodology for this project. Generic Python/FastMCP/MCP-server knowledge is assumed, not repeated.

Precedence

This file is authoritative for all rainkeeper work — no parent GEMINI.md exists inside this repo. General developer and tool conventions apply where not overridden here; this file overrides defaults on rainkeeper-specific technical and process matters (e.g. mandatory TDD) regardless of recency.

Instructions

Commands:

  • Branch naming: feat/, fix/, docs/, chore/. All work on a feature branch, PR into main — never commit directly to main.
  • Mandatory workflow for any new feature or significant change: /brainstorming (before any implementation, no exceptions for perceived simplicity) → /writing-plans (plan written to docs/superpowers/specs/ and committed before coding) → /test-driven-development (no production code without a failing test first) → /verification-before-completion (before marking any task done) → /finishing-a-development-branch (before raising a PR).
  • For bug fixes: write the failing test that reproduces the bug first, then fix. No exception.

Conventions:

  • Always call list_collections first in any Raindrop session — all move/file operations require numeric collection IDs, not names.
  • The Superpowers plugin methodology (referenced via /brainstorming, /writing-plans, /test-driven-development, /verification-before-completion, /finishing-a-development-branch) is mandatory for all work on this project.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
