singlarity: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

singlarity CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from singlarity-seekers/singlarity. It costs 3,796 tokens per session, scanned B, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Singlarity, a Python command-line tool that gathers information from services such as Gmail, Slack, Jira, and GitHub to create morning summaries with an AI agent. They also describe setup, testing, virtual environments, and Docker or Podman configuration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when setting up Singlarity, running its tests, configuring its context sources, or working on its container-based MCP services.
Why use it?
They give an AI assistant the project context and the commands needed to develop and test the tool correctly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.03796 $0.03796
Opus 5 $0.01898 $0.01898
Sonnet 5 $0.00759 $0.00759
Haiku 4.5 $0.00380 $0.00380

Security

Grade B, and why

singlarity CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Project Overview

Singlarity (DevAssist) is a Python CLI application that aggregates context from multiple developer tools (Gmail, Slack, JIRA, GitHub) and uses Claude Agent SDK to generate intelligent morning briefs. The project uses Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for context sources and features a unified AppConfig architecture with static session management.

Development Commands

Setup

# Create virtual environment
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate # Linux/macOS
# or: .venv\Scripts\activate # Windows

# Install in development mode
pip install -e ".[dev]"

Container Engine Setup (Docker/Podman)

DevAssist MCP servers run in containers. The default configuration uses Docker, but Podman is fully supported.

For Podman-only systems (without Docker):

# Create a symlink to allow MCP servers to work with Podman
sudo ln -s $(which podman) /usr/local/bin/docker

Alternative approach: Modify src/devassist/resources/mcp-servers.json to use "command": "podman" instead of "command": "docker".

Testing

# Run all tests
pytest

# Run with coverage (minimum 80% required)
pytest --cov=devassist

# Run unit tests only
pytest tests/unit/

# Run integration tests (requires real API credentials, skipped in CI)
pytest tests/integration/ -m integration

# Run contract tests (validate adapter implementations)
pytest tests/contract/

# Run specific test file
pytest tests/unit/test_brief_generator.py -v

# Skip slow/integration tests
pytest -m "not integration and not slow"

Code Quality

# Type checking (strict mode enabled)
mypy src/

# Linting
ruff check src/

# Format code
ruff format src/

Code Quality Policy: Linter and type checker warnings should be ignored unless they are breaking functionality. The project prioritizes working features over perfect code quality metrics. Fix errors that prevent the code from running, but warnings from ruff and mypy can be addressed later during refactoring phases.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
