stellarmcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

stellarmcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from siriuslattice/stellarmcp. It costs 888 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for connecting to StellarMCP, a read-only service that provides data from the Stellar blockchain, a network for digital assets and payments.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to read Stellar accounts, transactions, payments, market data, asset details, network status, and other blockchain records through a local or web connection.
Why use it?
They give an agent the identity, interfaces, and limits it needs when using this service.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: positional $N argument; mentions AGENTS.md; built for openclaw.

This is siriuslattice/stellarmcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on stellarmcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything stellarmcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00888 $0.00888
Opus 5 $0.00444 $0.00444
Sonnet 5 $0.00178 $0.00178
Haiku 4.5 $0.00089 $0.00089

Measured 7d ago against content hash 703fb407db04, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

stellarmcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md — StellarMCP

Agent Identity

  • Name: StellarMCP
  • Type: Data Merchant
  • Version: 0.2.0
  • Description: Sells Stellar blockchain data to AI agents via x402 micropayments

Capabilities

  • Reads: Stellar accounts, transactions, payments, DEX orderbooks, trade aggregations, asset metadata, network status, ledger details, effects, offers, operations, liquidity pools, claimable balances, normalized prices, VWAP
  • Prices: Multi-oracle aggregation (SdexOracle + ReflectorOracle) with median computation and per-source attribution (sources[] in responses)
  • Transports: stdio, HTTP REST (x402-gated), MCP-over-HTTP at /mcp (StreamableHTTPServerTransport, stateful sessions)
  • Writes: None (read-only)
  • Settlement: x402 on Stellar (USDC)

Interfaces

MCP (stdio)

Full Model Context Protocol server with 16 tools. Connect via any MCP client.

  }
}

MCP-over-HTTP (remote)

Connect via HTTP at POST /mcp using the MCP StreamableHTTP transport. Stateful sessions via mcp-session-id header.

Example: An MCP client points to http://localhost:4021/mcp instead of stdio. All 16 tools are accessible — same instance as stdio.

HTTP REST (x402-gated)

Each tool exposed as a GET endpoint. Paid endpoints require x402 payment header.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
