skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from skrrt-sh/skills. It costs 631 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for developing skills in the `skrrt-sh/skills` project. They define the required files, validation rules, and approved Git workflow for that project.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for building and validating skills, and for creating commits, pull requests, and releases through the project's prescribed tools. They also describe the supporting files each skill must contain.
Why use it?
They give an agent project-specific rules to follow, helping it avoid unsupported file formats or manually bypassing the repository's workflow.

Instructions file for Claude CodeCodexOpenCode

Written for Claude Code and Codex and OpenCode: ${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR} variable, but also the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions .claude-plugin; mentions Codex.

This is skrrt-sh/skills's own configuration. It tells Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on skills itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything skills configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00631 $0.00631
Opus 5.5 $0.00252 $0.00252
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00126 $0.00126
Haiku 4.5 $0.00063 $0.00063

Security

Grade A, and why

skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 44 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Git workflow

Use the Skrrt ship skills for git work: commit for commits, pr for pull and merge requests, release for releases. Never hand-write git commit, gh pr create, gh release create, glab mr create, or glab release create instead. Reconfiguring the workflow is /setup, which only the user can run.

Read .agents/ship.md before changing any git workflow state.

Skill conventions

Each skill lives at skills/<bucket>/<name>/SKILL.md with its supporting files co-located (references/, scripts/, assets/, agents/, config/, evals/). There are no per-skill manifests and no plugin-level hooks: a skill that needs a script bundles it under its own scripts/ and invokes it from SKILL.md.

Every skill must also carry agents/openai.yaml (Codex interface and invocation policy) and evals/evals.json (at least three behavior cases); every model-invocable skill additionally needs evals/trigger-evals.json (20+ queries, 8+ each way). scripts/validate-skills.sh fails without them, and it also fails on any frontmatter key outside name, description, allowed-tools, and disable-model-invocation. Only setup sets disable-model-invocation: true and allow_implicit_invocation: false; every other skill stays model-invocable. Gate side effects with the permission rules in templates/claude-settings.json. A skill that bundles scripts pre-approves them with allowed-tools: Bash(${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/scripts/<name>.sh:*) and invokes them directly, with no bash prefix and no quotes.

When adding or renaming a skill, keep four places in sync:

  1. The skills array in skills/<bucket>/.claude-plugin/plugin.json: paths relative to the bucket (./commit), and they may not escape it.
  2. The skills array in the root .claude-plugin/plugin.json: repo-relative paths (./skills/ship/commit), the repo-wide aggregate.
  3. The bucket's README.md (one linked line per skill).
  4. The Skills section in the root README.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
