CLAUDE.md — equinix-fabric-mcp

MCP server for the Equinix Fabric API (connections, ports, routers, service profiles, metros).

Canonical files

When making changes, always edit server_v2.py. Leave .bak files untouched.

Auth

OAuth2 client_credentials flow. Token URL: https://api.equinix.com/oauth2/v1/token

Credentials must be in .env (Docker) or exported in the shell (direct run). Never hardcode — claude_config_snippet.json in this repo has an outdated credential example, ignore it.

Running

As an MCP server (stdio — for Claude/Cursor integration)

As an HTTP server (for Postman testing)

# Docker network must exist first
docker network create equinix-network 2>/dev/null || true

# Start the HTTP wrapper on :8000
docker-compose up -d

# Health check

Swagger docs available at http://localhost:8000/docs when running.

Testing

# Full test cycle (start Docker, health check, Newman tests)
