.github/copilot-instructions.md

lucid-mcp-server copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from smartzan63/lucid-mcp-server. It costs 323 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

Project instructions for an MCP server that connects Lucid apps such as Lucidchart and LucidSpark to other software. MCP is a protocol for letting AI agents use external tools through a standard interface.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding or debugging Lucid integrations, MCP protocol code, server communication, APIs, and related tests.
Why use it?
They provide a required order for checking API documentation, writing code, and testing, while also setting rules for maintainable code and test coverage.

Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

Written for GitHub Copilot: a Copilot instructions file.

This is smartzan63/lucid-mcp-server's own configuration. It tells GitHub Copilot how to work on lucid-mcp-server itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything lucid-mcp-server configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00323 $0.00323
Opus 5 $0.00161 $0.00161
Sonnet 5 $0.00065 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00032 $0.00032

Measured 7d ago against content hash 01ae47734a9c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade C, and why

lucid-mcp-server copilot-instructions.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

What it actually says

This is an MCP Server project for Lucid App (Lucidchart/LucidSpark) integration.

  • Always try to get documentation for API that your trying to use, do following: read documentation => write code => test it. If you did something else inbeetween, read documentation again.
  • Try to use context7 tool to get documentation for libraries and APIs, if doesn't provide enough information, use web search.
  • Always write tests for your code and measure code coverage, desired code coverage is 80% for all new code.
  • Maintain test pyramids, prefer unit/component tests over integration tests.
  • Prefer updating existing files over creating new ones.
  • Keep the codebase clean and maintainable.
  • Keep the code modular and testable.
  • Simplicity is key, avoid unnecessary complexity.
  • If you going to add new code always make sure that the old one is not broken by your change and still needed.
  • Don't write unnecessary comments and documentation if not asked
  • Use the @modelcontextprotocol/sdk for all MCP protocol logic.
  • Don't use emojis in code, comments or documentation.
  • Use stdio transport for server communication.
  • You can find more info and examples at https://modelcontextprotocol.io/llms-full.txt
  • For Lucid API integration, refer to https://developer.lucid.co/
  • All documentation and comments must be in English.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
