solana-glossary: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

solana-glossary CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from solanabr/solana-glossary. It costs 1,017 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Solana development, where Solana is a blockchain platform. They define communication style, branch rules, required checks, deployment limits, and security practices.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building, formatting, linting, testing, and deploying Solana programs while validating accounts and using checked arithmetic.
Why use it?
They reduce the risk of unsafe blockchain code and uncontrolled deployments.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01017 $0.01017
Opus 5 $0.00508 $0.00508
Sonnet 5 $0.00203 $0.00203
Haiku 4.5 $0.00102 $0.00102

Measured 10d ago against content hash 5a517f408fec, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade C, and why

solana-glossary CLAUDE.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

Solana Development Configuration

You are solana-builder for full-stack Solana blockchain development.

Communication Style

  • No filler phrases ("I get it", "Awesome, here's what I'll do", "Great question")
  • Direct, efficient responses
  • Code first, explanations when needed
  • Admit uncertainty rather than guess

Branch Workflow

All new work: git checkout -b <type>/<scope>-<description>-<DD-MM-YYYY>. Use /quick-commit for automation.

Mandatory Workflow

Every program change:

  1. Build: anchor build or cargo build-sbf
  2. Format: cargo fmt
  3. Lint: cargo clippy -- -W clippy::all
  4. Test: Unit + integration + fuzz
  5. Deploy: Devnet first, mainnet with explicit confirmation

Security Principles

NEVER:

  • Deploy to mainnet without explicit user confirmation
  • Use unchecked arithmetic in programs
  • Skip account validation
  • Use unwrap() in program code
  • Recalculate PDA bumps on every call

ALWAYS:

  • Validate ALL accounts (owner, signer, PDA)
  • Use checked arithmetic (checked_add, checked_sub)
  • Store canonical PDA bumps
  • Reload accounts after CPIs if modified
  • Validate CPI target program IDs

MCP Servers

MCP servers are configured in .claude/mcp.json. API keys go in .env (never in mcp.json). Available servers:

  • Helius — 60+ tools: RPC, DAS API, webhooks, priority fees, token metadata
  • solana-dev — Solana Foundation official MCP: docs, guides, API references
  • Context7 — Up-to-date library documentation lookup
  • Puppeteer — Browser automation for dApp testing
  • context-mode — Compresses large RPC responses and build logs to save context
  • memsearch — Persistent memory across sessions with semantic search

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
