nfs AGENTS.md

nfs AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from sous-chefs/nfs. It costs 387 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for installing and configuring NFS utilities on Linux systems. NFS is a network file system that lets computers share directories over a network.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when configuring NFS clients or servers on Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL-based systems, Fedora, Amazon Linux, or SUSE.
Why use it?
They clarify which operating-system packages and services to use and document platform and architecture limits before setup.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00387 $0.00387
Opus 5 $0.00193 $0.00193
Sonnet 5 $0.00077 $0.00077
Haiku 4.5 $0.00039 $0.00039

Measured 4d ago against content hash 0b86a84aa357, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nfs AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent Notes

Package Availability

NFS client and server utilities are provided by operating system package repositories. This cookbook does not configure an upstream NFS vendor repository.

APT (Debian/Ubuntu)

  • Debian 12: nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server are available from the Debian archive for amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, and s390x.
  • Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04: nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server are available from the Ubuntu archive for amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, ppc64el, riscv64, and s390x.

DNF/YUM (RHEL family, Fedora, Amazon Linux)

  • RHEL-compatible platforms use the distro nfs-utils and rpcbind packages.
  • Fedora currently publishes nfs-utils for supported Fedora releases.
  • Amazon Linux 2023 uses the distro nfs-utils and rpcbind packages.

Zypper (SUSE)

  • The helper defaults retain package and service mappings for SUSE family platforms, but this migration does not declare or test SUSE support in metadata.rb.

Architecture Limitations

  • Architecture support follows each operating system's package repositories.
  • Server convergence requires a Linux kernel with NFS server support. Container-based Kitchen runs may need privileged Dokken with systemd.

Source/Compiled Installation

This cookbook does not build NFS utilities from source.

Known Issues

  • Legacy recipe and node attribute APIs were removed in the full custom resource migration. Use the resources documented in documentation/ and the breaking-change guide in migration.md.
  • CentOS Linux and CentOS Stream 8 are end of life and are no longer tested.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
