AGENTS.md

writavo-mcp-server AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from SparkleOfficial/writavo-mcp-server. It costs 1,201 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for coding agents working on Writavo's MCP server. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for an AI assistant to use external tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing the Writavo MCP server, connecting it to another project, or checking how its hosted and local components fit together.
Why use it?
They give agents the project structure, supported connection methods, and rules for changing or using the server.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01201 $0.01201
Opus 5.5 $0.00480 $0.00480
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00240 $0.00240
Haiku 4.5 $0.00120 $0.00120

Security

Grade A, and why

writavo-mcp-server AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 18d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

Instructions for AI coding agents working in this repository, and for agents that want to use Writavo from inside another project.

What this repository is

The MCP tools for the Writavo Content API (https://api.writavo.com/v1), served by the hosted Writavo MCP server at https://mcp.writavo.com/mcp. The workspace package is named @writavo/mcp-server but is private: it is not published to npm, and the hosted server is the only way Writavo is offered over MCP. Its tools are generated from the OpenAPI specification, so the server cannot expose an operation the API does not have.

The tools live once, in src/core/ (exported as @writavo/mcp-server/core, the package's only export), and are mounted by the hosted server at https://mcp.writavo.com/mcp (the monorepo's workers/mcp, a Cloudflare Worker with OAuth 2.1). There is no local or stdio server: no bin, no sign-in tools, no path arguments (owner ruling 2026-09-28). Do not add one back.

It also ships as an Agent Plugin (plugin.json, mcp.json) and a Claude Code plugin (.claude-plugin/plugin.json, .claude-plugin/marketplace.json, .mcp.json) with one skill, skills/writavo/SKILL.md.

Using Writavo from another project

  • Add the hosted server: claude mcp add --transport http writavo https://mcp.writavo.com/mcp (or {"type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.writavo.com/mcp"}). The client signs in with OAuth; a person approves in their browser.
  • A client that cannot do OAuth can send a Writavo secret key as the bearer token instead (Authorization: Bearer wv_sk_...).
  • Exact setup for every client (Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Zed), permissions, approvals and troubleshooting: https://writavo.com/docs/mcp.md. After connecting, call get_site_info and verify_api_key and tell the person which Site and permissions you have.
  • Moving a blog in: https://writavo.com/docs/migrate.md (the runbook) and the migrate-content prompt.
  • Read skills/writavo/SKILL.md for the order of operations and the mistakes to avoid.
  • Documentation over MCP, no key needed: https://writavo.com/mcp/docs (Streamable HTTP).
  • Everything else an agent needs: https://writavo.com/llms.txt, https://writavo.com/auth.md, https://writavo.com/openapi.json.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
