AGENTS.md

obsidian-kb-skill AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Spc-jgs/obsidian-kb-skill. It costs 1,031 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for an Obsidian knowledge-base skill. Obsidian is a note-taking app that stores linked documents as files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, rebuilding, checking, or testing this skill and its platform-specific deliverables.
Why use it?
They explain where source files belong, how generated files are made, and which commands check or test changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01031 $0.01031
Opus 5 $0.00515 $0.00515
Sonnet 5 $0.00206 $0.00206
Haiku 4.5 $0.00103 $0.00103

Measured 7d ago against content hash 405701527a35, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

obsidian-kb-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Module Organization

core/ contains the canonical Skill instructions, references, and note templates. Python helper code lives in obsidian_kb_skill/, with CLI entry points declared in pyproject.toml. build.py combines the core content with platform headers and synchronizes generated deliverables under skills/ and platforms/. Do not edit those generated files directly; change their source and regenerate them. Tests are in tests/, fixture data is in tests/fixtures/, user documentation is in docs/, and installer entry points are install.sh and install.ps1.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

  • uv sync --locked --extra dev installs the pinned development environment, including pytest and build tooling.
  • uv run python build.py regenerates Skill bundles, platform adapters, manifests, and packaged resources after source changes.
  • uv run --no-sync python build.py --check verifies that generated artifacts match their sources without rewriting them.
  • uv run --no-sync python -m pytest runs the complete test suite using the repository import path.
  • uv lock --check confirms that uv.lock is current.

Python 3.11 or newer is required; CI exercises Python 3.11 and 3.14, plus the PowerShell installer on Windows.

Coding Style & Naming Conventions

Use four-space indentation, UTF-8, and LF line endings. Follow existing Python conventions: snake_case for modules and functions, PascalCase for classes, descriptive constants in UPPER_SNAKE_CASE, type annotations for public boundaries, and pathlib.Path for filesystem work. Keep CLI output and error contracts deterministic. No formatter or linter is configured, so match nearby code and keep imports grouped as standard library, third-party, then local.

Testing Guidelines

Pytest discovers tests/test_*.py; name tests test_<behavior> and group related cases in Test... classes when useful. Add regression tests for bug fixes and fixtures for larger evaluation cases. There is no configured coverage threshold. Before opening a PR, run the generated-artifact check, full pytest suite, and lockfile check. Installer or path changes should cover POSIX and Windows behavior where applicable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
